Extended Stay America Select Suites- Detroit - Roseville

Date: January 5, 2026 I want to start by saying that the front desk staff were extremely kind and professional. If I remember their names correctly the older black lady Ms. Connie and the younger black lady Ms. Deborah were both warm, respectful, and helpful during my stay. Unfortunately, that was the only positive part of this experience. The condition of this hotel is unacceptable and unsanitary. While I understand that smoking and pets are allowed, the hallways had overwhelming odors of cigarette smoke, animal waste, and general filth. The smell alone was enough to make me feel sick walking to and from my room. Upon entering my room, it was clear that it had not been properly cleaned. Despite the marijuana smell coming from somebody's room, my overall stay was good. Connie from the front desk is an amazing person working there; she's very nice, honest and helpful. She greeted me and my boyfriend with an positive attitude and showed us to our room which was clean.

I had reservations requested a 1st floor close to entrance bec I have walking issues, asked about refrigerator and was told that all necessary utensils are in the kitchen. I checked in, had no more 1st or 2nd floor rooms, was put on 3rd floor far from the entrance. She ask for my credit card and I said I wanted to pay with cash, she said they don't accept cash??? WHAT. Who don't accept cash!!!!I I had brought food with me to cook for dinner, there was no plates, silverware, pans NOTHING in the rooms, had to go all the way back down to the front desk to get some and all she gave me was silverware, had to ask for a plate, had no pans. then when I get back up to the room I wanted to wash the silverware & plate to use for what I did have to eat, bec lord only knows where those plates and silve

Positive: Staff is the best for the hotel Negative: The ants, we have to pay for dishes, pay for clean towels and clean sheets. And the noisy up stairs people I couldn’t one day to sleep in.

Don’t suggest anything because if you don’t have water and go down there and tell them that it would’ve been helpful if they would’ve gave you a heads up the night before that it would be turned off while you’re in the shower and have a soapy head you’ll just get told you can always check out very poor service. Don’t clean at all meat juice in the fridge raider underneath the glass rinks of marijuana by the employees are in the back with their children, sitting on their lap, smoking blunts there’s no smoking in the hotel but the whole hotel smells like marijuana. If this was my established my business, I would be live if my employees were behaving like that one employee sat at the front desk for three maybe four hours just looking at her phone while the boss was looking at her phone and ta
