Express Inn Leesville Ft Johnson, SureStay Collection by Best Western

I was at this hotel for only one night, but it was peaceful and quite. I had no issues with anything and the staff was friendly and helpful. The building and room smelled and looked clean. The fitness room was reasonably sized for the building, and the breakfast was decent. Overall, I had no issues and it was a good stay.

Would I stay here again…probably, if the overpass was full and all the park benches were taken, then sure. I will say this; it was an eventful stay. Let me start from the beginning. A company I work for booked a block of rooms for our group a couple weeks before our travel. A week or so before check-in, I called for a feather free room, the nice lady who answered the call said no problem. Our group (about 40 of us) all checked in throughout the day, I drove, so I arrived earlier than most. First try at key cards for the room did not work. On a second try the key cards would work on the 3-5 swipe. So 30% of the time, they work every time…so far pretty normal for a “Army Hotel” as was the delightful scent of feet wrapped in month old bacon. Once in the room, I noticed the finer details

Positive: Clean rooms and lobby. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Negative: Some minor repair work: caulking, cracks, and drywall tape was loose around cieling to wall.

Soaps in the bathroom sucked. The shampoo made my hair feel almost like play-doh and the bottle was the size of my thumb. And no conditioner...why? Also the fire alarm false alarmed at 1:30AM during my stay. Didn't know if it was the hotels fault or the fault of some other guest staying there. Either way, it's hard to let that one slide cause I was there on business and had a 16 hr shift ahead of me that day.

The staff was redeeming...but not enough. This hotel is one of the worst places I've stayed in...I've stayed in some awful places. My bed sheets were stained. Pillows were stained. The TV and coffee maker didn't work. The refrigerator froze all of my food. WIFI was unpredictable. If you come here for work bring your own WIFI. Coffee was often cold. This is not the staffs fault. $112 a day is ridiculous for the product.
