Positive: "" Negative: The staff checking me were acting like scammers. They chargerd an additional Fee. They did not provide information on parking, pool hours or pool location, nor laundry. They were so concerned with that extra fee that they stopped checking other people.

The good: 1) Room is spacious. 2) Clean sheets and towels. 3) Comfy bed. 4) Nice wide window looking out on Collins Ave. 5) A bit of history attached to it with the architecture introduced from 1938(pic attached) 6) Location is very near to the art deco south beach so very convinient. Staff were mostly friendly and at least promised to make things work. The Bad: 1) The toilet is on the smaller side. 2) Hot water in the shower took ages to arrive. 3) Coffee machine in the room never worked. 4) Bedside table lamps did not work. The maintenence team after multiple follow ups did turn them on but then we could not switch it off at night as they did not have a switch and needed to plugged out from a point somewhere behind the bed rest. 5) Coffee and pastry which was served as compliment

This is a second stay for me and my suite was extra special. The classic deco style with updated comforts was wonderful. The location was perfect and surprisingly quiet. They sure do not build them like they used to. Check-in was easy and Godfrey went above and beyond to make sure I would have everything I needed for my stay. I will definitely be back again!

Everyone at The Essex, The Clevelander and Becon Bitch is so nice and friendly. Both hotels are related. All 3 locations are clean and priced right. Our room was nice and clean. Only wish our windows opened for fresh air. Our first interaction was with Christy and Joseph. Great customer service and super helpful! Along with Becon Bitch. Breakfast is free here if stay at one of the hotels mentioned. They are nice and a fun crowd. A must stay and will would do again 😊

This place is ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!! DO NOT DO NOT go here! Front staff is rude and don't bother trying to ever reach guest services on the phone. We must have called them 20x and left 4-5 voicemails to get a simple receipt for our stay there. In addition, the toilets barely flush and you have to pull and push the plunger in a certain way to get it to work. The shower leaks and doesn't ever completely turn off. Rooms are tiny. Overall cost is way way too much for the terrible stay here. How do you have a business where you are never able to reach guest services?? Yall need to do WAY better.
