Elwood Motel

This place is crazy. Cops always there, very loud, the owners are constantly bothering you every day and you cannot say no to them about cleaning your room, you cant sleep in so if your wanting to sleep in after a long trip dont stay here, the rooms are old fashioned with that nasty carpet. They accused me of stealing their blankets and pillows even though i brought my own which are far more nicer than theirs i told the owner where i left them and she refused to look, while they clean your room they do not speak english so who knows what they are saying, lots of drug activity and dv situations and overall just not a good stay. Also its off a busy highway so if you have kids make sure you hang onto them but i wouldnt dare bring my kids here.

Place is very clean, usually does not have too many occupants. However on the weekends there can be some illiciit activity (garbage guests). One night I could hear a lady screaming in the next room and some girls and a guy stomping around in the room next door going in and out of the room and being loud and boisterous outside in the middle of the night, probaly extra unauthroized people in the room. Somethere there are no cars in the parking lot, but the rooms are occupied, and the screaming lady next door, I heard the phone ring a little bit after check out time, and the owner trying to kick her out. As a person who travels to various locations in the state and often have to spend the night a motel I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the Elwood Motel. At first I was apprehensive because it is actually in Meriden and Meriden isn't known for quiet areas but the Elwood is definitely quiet. The amenities are very basic but this not a motel that you should expect more than what they offer. My only real complaint is that the sign that says the motel's name is resessed from the road and isn't lit. I will definitely check this place out again when and if my travel needs require a motel room in the area.

The people were rude and mean and stole my deposit after they said we did not have service dog no dogs and I asked ahead of time and when we got there we had to leave if anyone wants to know do not go there

I called this hotel for a week stay the lady was rude and ignorant I told her I had a service animal and she said we don't take service animals we don't have nothing for you and hung up in my ear it's against the law to refuse to take a service animal
