El Portal Motel

I’ve stayed at El Portal three times, and I’ll definitely come back again. The motel offers spacious rooms equipped with a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Ray, the office manager, is incredibly kind and always goes the extra mile to help and accommodate your needs. In fact, the excellent service she provided is the reason I chose to return for my third stay.

It's a small town without much traffic. We had a good night sleep even though our room was next to the street. The bed was comfortable. The room and bathroom were clean. Wi-Fi was speedy. The refrigerator kept our stuff chill! Friendly staff.

El Portal was exactly what we needed for a perfect long weekend in Death Valley. Room was big, clean, and met my expectations fro the price. The town of Beatty is charming, a step back in time in the best way. Avoid the Arco if you like nice people.

Positive: Great price, great location, comfortable. Also a good place for animal lovers. The office had two friendly cats, and there were friendly, free-roaming donkeys in the area. Negative: Shower water wasn't very warm. This was a small price to pay for how fun my vacation was.

Nice, conveniently located motel. The room was clean and everything was fine during my stay. I later realized I had left my second phone behind, and the staff were kind and helpful in assisting me with getting it back. I really appreciate their help.
