Customer Reviews
The campsite itself was spacious, with a decent fire pit and a picnic table in good condition. The ground was covered in leaf litter, which raised some concerns about ticks. They also did not enforce the rule of 2 tents per site as our neighbors had five tents and many people at one site who were loud, but otherwise the site was pleasant and the lake was beautiful. Unfortunately, the bathrooms were a major disappointment. They were in poor condition, and there was an inappropriate carving in one of the stalls. Unlike many state campsites, there were no 988 crisis hotline stickers posted in the bathrooms. Overall, the restroom facilities are in serious need of updating. The roads throughout the campground are rough, with several large potholes that made me worry about damaging my car. Sig
Absolutely love this place!! We fell upon this place; we were supposed to stay at Moose River Plains campground but somehow ended up at Eight Lake Campground and couldn’t have been happier!! The cam area is very big and we had plenty of room to fit our SuV and tent right near each other. We had a nice view of the lake. The other campers are not on top of you like if you went to a KOA campground and it is very peaceful. We heard owls we saw chipmunks and we saw a few fish. Definitely worth the trip.
Eight Lake is a great campground to unplug (no cell service) and unwind! My family has been camping here for over 50 years! First time camping here was when I was 10, we camped on the Eighth Lake side on campsite #29, $2 a night! 52 years later and we are still camping here! I camped with my husband and my son’s family we camped on the Seventh Lake side we were on site #117 very large site right across from the boat launch and dock, get view of the lake even from across the street. Son was on site #114 huge site right on the lake. There are not a lot of sites lakeside, but the ones that are have great access to the water. Most of the sites at the campground are large and well spaced out and very wooded. Sites are $22 a night (amazing only a $20 increase in price 52 years later)! The la
We went for the hike and it was a beautiful one. Pictures are from the trail that starts in the campground
The campground has nice spacing between sites, and our pad on site 114 was in great shape with a great view of Seventh Lake. We enjoyed a quiet paddle in the lake with numerous places to explore. Military jets flew over each morning, which was cool to see and hear. We enjoyed a nice hike out to Bug Lake where we spotted a couple of loons. The one big negative is that the roads in the campground are in horrible shape. They are supposed to be getting paved soon. Let's hope so before someone loses a camper in one of those potholes.
