Econo Lodge Williamsburg Historic Area

We stayed there for two and a half months. First, it was alright, then the water was cold all the time, I couldn't take a shower in the evening. I had cigarette holes in the sheets and bed spread. They were fixing the roof so there was a lot of banging overhead. I wouldn't use the microwave because the paint was missing where the wheel goes around.

receptionist was friendly. My checkout time was 11am. At 10:20am I was in the shower when there was a knocking at the door. Got a towel around me . When I opened the door a gentlemen asked me if I am checking out today. I was very upset. I spoke to the receptionist about this and he told me that this was the cleaning folks. My question is, why on check on folks at 11am if the guest is not out of the room? Not while I am changing.

My husband and I stayed here recently for our trip to Colonial Williamsburg. The convenience to the visitor's center can't be beat! It was very close to Colonial Williamsburg and the Merchant Square area. It was also pretty convenient to Jamestown and Yorktown. The people working at this motel were all very pleasant and friendly. The shower in our room was in bad condition and the shower curtain had black mildew stains on it. The room showed signs of plumbing leaks in the past and poor repair jobs. The fan in the bathroom was very dusty! They had a sign telling us that there was no breakfast - only coffee. However, my husband found that the coffee machine didn't really work. For the location and price this was fair.....except for the large spider web that has been there dangling for quite awhile. After a long hot day we arrived to a nice cool room. Did ask for extra towels up front. Soaps and shampoo provided. We had 2 double beds and a table w 2 chairs. Everything was fine till I saw this large web. I was too tired to care at the time and nobody was at the front desk when we checked out to mention it too. 2 pillows per bed and no extra blanket. I'd stay there again for 1 quick night sleep and leave.

This was an excellent hotel. Little hidden gem in the heart of Williamsburg. Clean rooms, friendly host. Very quiet. In the heart of historic center. 5 minutes away from all the parks and historic activities. Location is great. Stayed for 2 nights. I would come back and stay here again.
