Econo Lodge Whitehall near Michigan's Adventure

They still haven't given my money back for holding the room. There was no shampoo and conditioner and soap in the room. The lady at the front desk was very helpful tho. I was a bit upset when on line it said $50 and at the place it bumped it up to over $70 which was not in our budget. But we made it work.

The property is in a pretty run down condition. Rusty and bent up features on the outside of the building, moldy grout around the tub, the bathroom walls were obviously repaired poorly, and the faucet handle in the tub was installed improperly so that “hot” was actually cold and “cold” was actually hot. Maybe it’s okay for hunters dragging dirt and grim in from the outdoors, but it wasn’t up to standard for regular guests. We stayed in supposedly the “best room” the property has, and it left much to be desired in cleanliness and maintenance.

Location was great. Really close to Michigans Adventure and Walmart was within walking distance. Over priced. No breakfast, only coffee offered. Door handle to stairs near our room was broken. Dirt clumps all the way up the stairs our entire stay. Quite a bit of trash in parking lot and lawn. No elevator. Room was comfortable. Shower was good and hot.

Positive: Nothing! Negative: The hotel is located next to the freeway and you hear the traffic all night long. The hotel room smelled like a musty wet dog that had been smoking. The pillows were terrible and the linens were thread bare. This should be a negative star hotel.

The woman at the front desk was readily available and very helpful during our late check-in. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The room seemed dark, and it needed more lighting. The bathroom seemed to be partially updated.. except bath/shower. Had a large, well-worn jacuzzi tub that you had to step in... there was a grab bar, which helped. Also, around the tub, the grout was orange/brown... Company definitely should remodel that shower.
