Econo Lodge Wausau - Rothschild

The owners of this place were considerate, I booked wrong week and they worked with me. Thought this would be a good experience until the housekeeper checked me in. I told her that the other man who answered the phone said I could check in 30 mins early, she vehement that policy was policy. She said she would look into, well after I left she charged me 15 dollars. Stayed a couple weeks in between places . Did my best to leave place clean, couple days later my credit card had 150 and 100 dollar charges. Called and she said supposedly was a towel over the fire alarm. There wasn’t but I did call front desk about sensitive fire alarm and did nothing I made my room available to them throughout my stay to prove not ripping it to shreds . Availability and Price - The rooms are clean and they saved my insulin that I forgot and had to come back for. This is the 2nd time that I have stayed and enjoyed it. The 1st time I had my semi and plenty of parking. As far as price very reasonable. The only thing I would request is a room with a large hot tub to relax in peace and quiet or a large walk-in shower.

Positive: I got to sleep Negative: Yes, the bathroom had hair in the sink and there?s rust all over the tub. The water cooler had dirty brown water coming out and I told them. The lady that works there said she was investigating the water and I said you need to change the filter. I wasn?t

If we could give 0 stars we would. It's like living in a 3rd world country. There is nobody at the front desk. There were bugs in our room, hair on the floor, a kleenex laying on the bathroom floor. The room was unclean and not swept at all. The hot tub was not working, and it didn't work when we were there 3 months ago. The washer and dryer were broken. We thought we'd give this hotel a second chance but never again.

The location was convenient for the purpose of my trip. It would be nice to have a breakfast option that is not so carb heavy. The rooms need some updating, the hallways smelled clean and fresh but my room did not. The tissue dispensers were rusty, the bathtub looked dirty, but I'm assuming it was stained because of the age of it. The sink faucet was old and hard to operate.
