Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Yreka

This is the worst place I have ever stayed. It was so cold the swimming pool had a layer of ice covering the top and neither the heater or hot water worked. The heater is placed so high on the wall I'm surprised anyone can access it. It would blow out warm air for a minute then blow cold. The faucet in the shower spun around continuously and would not produce hot water. Once I turned it down to barely a trickle it got a little warm but in that weather condition and the lack of warmth in the room the last thing I was going to do is take a cold shower. Especially since the bed had nothing but a thin bedspread on it, no blanket. No blankets in room and because I got there late and had to leave real early didn't complain.

The hotel appears to have been built in 1972, and not cleaned or updated since. It smells horrific, the showers are filthy and need a serious renovation. When I let my family know I was safe for the night I told them I was staying at the cockroach Inn.

Positive: rooms were available last minute Negative: the shower was scary. i wore my slippers into the shower, thats how bad it was. Beds were fine, power kept going out.

Our room was updated, clean, and spacious; our family of five fit comfortably. The staff were all very friendly and we’d be happy to stay here again.

A older building, the room I was in was much nicer than I expected. Very clean. The price was half of the chains that are right next to the noisy highway
