Econo Lodge Athens I-65

I had a pleasant stay at the Econo Lodge in Athens, AL. The staff was friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout my visit. The room was clean and comfortable, providing everything I needed for a good night’s rest. The hotel was quiet, and the location was convenient with easy access to restaurants, shopping, and local attractions. Overall, it was a good value for the price, and I would stay here again when visiting the area.

Not the greatest place for a family to stay. I work out of town a lot and have stayed in some pretty sketchy motels, this one ranks right up there with those. Only good thing is it’s cheap and there are a bunch of places to eat and gas stations within walking distance.

Called hotel week before to confirmed if jetted tub was available and made reservation thru Choice Hotel. Arrived Sunday evening at checked into room 107 which had jetted bath tub. Room 107 bathroom tub enclosure, curtain and backside wall (adjacent to bed) was full of mold. We immediately returned to front desk and explained issues. Hotel personnel confirmed mold issue and attempted to clean mold. A few minutes later, they returned and told us the room was ready (Room 107). THIS WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE FROM A CHOICE HOTEL. They (family who ran the hotel) became upset and then provided room 103 as an alternative at 8pm (handicap). This room also had issues but no mold. I’ll be the first to give them an updated review. My stay was pleasant. Very quiet, very cozy. The staff was extremely friendly. The air conditioning worked very well. I was able to stay in the same room both nights I stayed, on my way to Indiana and on my way back home, by simply asking. The only complaint I truly had, and I said this directly to the front desk, is that I wish the jacuzzi tubs were bigger because they definitely the space for a full sized one in the bathroom. Price was also reasonable. Hotel was also clean.

Everything was smooth from check-in to check-out, and it was a great value for the area. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Athens.
