Poplar Point Lakeside RV Park

We checked in on the afternoon of 11/09/25. My wife and I booked one of the rooms that were made from a shipping container through Air BNB. We've always had good luck using them so we weren't concerned about the quality of the place. It sounded interesting, and was it ever, just not in a good way! We had made the reservation along with our boxer and boston. We were greeted by the strong smell of weed and a large dog that was off leash headed straight towards us. I kicked some rocks in it's direction and it backed up a little. I picked up a handful, which were plentiful since that is almost all over the site, and through them at it; it got far enough away that we felt safe to get our guys out. We drove up here on 11/1/25. This place is trashy yes the pool looks nice but that's about it. I would not feel comfortable leaving my rv here just to run to the grocery store. The reviews and pictures are very misleading I just wished I took pictures to post with this review. I live in Alabama and I am embarrassed that people from out of state will see this place.

Moved from Texas to Alabama and couldn’t be happier with this park! Amazing owners and staff… peaceful…private… brand new pool and jacuzzi…fully stocked general store with amazing hot foods too…incredible views and minutes from the lake! Great rates and availability…don’t have an RV you can rent tiny homes right here too! Wish I could give it more than 5 stars!

Great place for RV’s . Beautiful swimming pool & hot tub area. The pool is heated with waterfall. Pool hours are 9-10pm and is open to the public.

Staff are friendly, the residents are as well! Clean well maintained campgrounds! Highly recommend!
