Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Athens I-65

I know this is a Fairfield but I gave it high marks because of the employees. The rooms were clean and there were no dogs best I could tell. Resteraunts are close by and the hotel was quite ar night. The breakfast buffet was not great but probably a 4 or 5. The coffee was very good. I would stay there again as it has a good location.

Wifi was not great, even the front desk had to do everything by paper. Our room was very noisy-- with neighbors stomping around upstairs early in the morning and the cleaning crew in their closet next to our room banging, it was difficult to sleep and to work. We're awakened hours before the alarm (5:30). When we checked out, the front desk was more interested in working with cleaning staff than talking to us-- didn't want to check in or even barely a "Good morning. " The room was clean, but light bulb was out in bathroom. Strange room--decor not usual current Fairfield decor-- like colors not the same, very uncomfortable chairs (desk and corner chair). Per usual / I will list pros and cons - areas for growth. ||Pros:|-I just want to point out that we checked in at 6pm on April 4 and there were two gals working the front check in counter. One was checking in an older lady who was with what appeared to be her daughter and adult granddaughter. The older lady got all the way through the process, was given room number and older lady then decided to request an ADA accessible room. The employee was VERY patient and explained that the ada rooms with two beds were already occupied. Older lady was not happy about this. Older lady started being VERY condescending when she then requested a luggage cart and shared that the type of cart they had was not what she wanted. Again, employee was patient and kind. This hotel is really great and gives you all of the comforts that larger hotels offer. The hotel exterior and interior is very clean. The lobby and eating area is nice with lots of seating available. The room and bathroom was very clean and nice. Well stocked and didn't have any issues. It was a bit smaller than I am use too but not a huge deal. The breakfast was more than usual which was great for options and variety. I even loved that they offered salsa and cheese for the omelettes. Everything was clean and well stocked during breakfast. The fresh fruit options was a nice touch. I will definitely stay again.

Easy check-in, nice lobby, clean rooms, comfortable bed. Decent water pressure forshower but no vent fan. Hotel is conveniently located. Breakfast was a disappointment...messy food area, not busy but staff wasn't keeping up with food or supplies. I'm used to weak hotel orange juice, but this was extra diluted, yet somehow had dark orange color. Biscuits and gravy were not up to any hotel's standards as it tasted of flour only. However I did like many choices of toppings for oatmeal.
