Eagles Resort

Eagles is a group of 16 Swedish-styled chalets that are about 40 years old. We had a one week stay via RCI exchange, and came during the second week of January (primarily to ski at Sugarbush). Eagles management and staff are very friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out was very efficient. The two-storey units have a lofted master bedroom with on-suite full bathroom and adjoining sauna. Our unit was clean and reasonably well maintained (there were a few minor issues that we informed staff of, none that significantly affected our stay). The main floor is an open concept kitchen, dining and living area with a large stone fireplace. Sliding doors go out to a large deck. We had a wonderful stay at the Eagles. The unit we stayed in is actually a small 3 bedroom house, very spacious and clean. Huge fully equipped kitchen. All the furniture and appliances were clean and comfortable, except perhaps the primary king bed, which was a little soft and squeaky when you move. There is a large clean swimming pool and tennis court. The staff were great, with good recommendations on things to do and restaurants. The area itself is very nice, with plenty of hiking trails. It is quieter than the Stowe area ( a plus, not much traffic!) so during the summer you have to be flexible if you eat out for meals, as the restaurants are closed on various days.

We’ve been coming to Eagles for decades. It’s a wonderful getaway to Vermont. The location is excellent, close to town, makes it easier than being slope side, or nearer to skiing. Many more convenient options for eating, food, shopping. The units are well appointed and very well maintained. Clean always. Fire wood is provided and there is a nice fireplace in each unit. The master bedroom has a sauna. The downstairs has a sitting room that can convert to extra sleeping space if needed. Highly recommend staying here if you have a choice.

The units were beautiful, but a little updating needs to be done with the carpets and some of the appliances. The upstairs loft bedroom could use a small air conditioner in the room for more privacy. More hooks in the bathroom for hanging towels would be a great addition. The Wi-Fi was a little spotty, but it was nice to disconnect from the outside world. The pool was a fun area.

We just wrapped up a 3 night stay for our family of 6 and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. As mentioned in other reviews, the community was clean, spacious, well kept and quiet. And it seemed every unit was occupied while we were there. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The kitchen came well stocked (minus lids/coverings for left overs) and our kids were pleasantly surprised to find a few water toys at the pool. Having the grocery store close by was really convenient, too. If you are looking for a relaxed place to stay that’s close to many restaurants and attractions, this is one to consider.
