Duck Point Resort

1987, found our place upriver for 26 years, met the greatest friends in our lifetime. Spent 26 best yrs of our lives in that area. Tomahawk has the friendly best town ever.

Do not visit here or buy property. We own a real estate investment company and purchase cabins. We saw there were cabins/condos for sale here and were interested as we love the tomahawk area. However, the management was unbearable and utterly disrespectful. We spoke with a man in glasses wearing Harley Davidson attire, not sure if he was the owner but definitely not someone we would ever want to work with. Additionally, the cabins were run down and the property was junky which is a shame because the land and location is beautiful. If the right management was in there this place could do so much better.

The resort is in a nice little wooded area that is still super close to town if you need supplies. The cabins are rustic, but nice. We had the Swan and it had 3 bedrooms (king, double full, and a full). The living room had two padded bench seats that were comfy enough to sleep on, a couch, and two chairs. There was a patio with picnic table, grill and a little fire pit. The water was beautiful and it was very homey. Staff very friendly. We went fishing from shore and on boat, caught some nice fish.

Do not stay here. Used to have great memories here. Cabins need extensive renovating and updating. Most buildings appear to be rotting away. Overpriced and the management is rude and short. The maintenance area for the grounds is the first thing you see on the way in which resembles a small junkyard. It will not be what you expect in a Northwoods getaway. The water frontage is poor for any kind of water sports.

If I could rate this less than one star, I would. It needs some serious updating and they need to call a pest control company. We paid over $2000 dollars for a group of people to stay up there for a weekend, and the owner charged us $200 dollars for a rotted wood bench that broke. His words were "I'll need $200 for that bench. $20 for the bench, $180 for disrespect fees." We were happy to drive another hour to Wausau, although we paid for another night, to find a hotel to sleep comfortably in.
