Somo View Resort

Lou and Colleen are wonderful! I was looking for a place for some crew members to stay while they were working up in Tomahawk, and they were able to get me booked right away! They were very responsive with communication, and very easy to work with. I contacted them a few weeks in advance and he had me penciled in within the same day. I would definitely book a stay for the crew with them again in the future if we are in the area! Thank you Lou and Colleen!!

Family of 4. Stayed in Red's log cabin. The cabin is very old and rustic. That being said the owners are smart enough to have updated electrical with dish tv and a window a/c unit which we needed as 3 of 7 days there was in the 80's. Kitchen is very well setup, and we had every meal there but 2 dinners out. Provided a gas grill that actually worked very well, and we used it a lot! Did I mention the place even had a fridge that worked well! Surprised or not I'd say that 1/2 the places we stay at the fridges don't work well. The sleeping arrangements are 2 bunk beds in the same room, 1 at each end. We knew this going in and it worked out fine. The use of the kayaks and rowboat was great too. Nice docks also. This place was awesome! My family and I found a really nice balance of peace and fun. We had fun kayaking out to the rope swing on the nearby island and swimming. We paddled out the other way and really enjoyed the peaceful waterway over to the dam. The sunsets and moon rises were so beautiful from out on our dock. It was cool to see the loons and hear them howling! There is even a nearby eagles nest that was active with a couple of eagles while we were there! We all highly recommend this place even our dog Bennett... We couldn't keep him out of the lake!

This review is long overdue, but I wanted to post this in time for this summer! We still haven’t forgotten about our wonderful trip to Somo View Resort in June 2022! We booked cabin 2 through Airbnb after looking for a nice, quiet place up north where we could bring our pup along for a laidback weekend. I was expecting the lake to be somewhat busy as we had visited over Father’s Day weekend, but I was pleasantly surprised by how calm and quiet the lake was! We brought our own kayaks, but there were also a few available for guests when we visited. We felt truly relaxed paddling around the lake, fishing off the pier, and playing cards. It was a bit too windy for us to have a fire during our stay, BUT the breeze was PERFECT for staying cool through the 2-day heat advisory we were here for! Yo

An amazing place to escape to...set on a gorgeous, peaceful lake, full of fun activities! From kayaking (which they provided the kayaks) to fishing, to a rope swing on an island in the middle of the lake....what more can one ask for? There also was a fire pit, a grill outside for us to use, outdoor picnic tables, a row boat available and we brought our own boat that we were able to dock there. Nice gradual water entrance by the dock so the kids could splash around in the water. Very clean, a modern look inside the cabin with a large window overlooking the lake and plenty of places for my husband and I and 4 kids to sleep. My family made wonderful memories that will last a lifetime! Lou, the owner was very accommodating, and was quick to respond to any questions I had. Would love to come ba
