We chose this hotel solely because of its location to the Ed Sullivan Theater and price (~$200/night plus an enormous amount of add--ons). Upon arriving for check-in, we were informed that the room wasn't ready, which wasn't really surprising because we arrived around 2pm. The very friendly front desk man said he'd text me within two hours when it was ready, so we went to a restaurant and walked around. At around 4, we came back (without having been texted) and was informed that the room on the 10th floor (that wasn't clean at 2) was getting the carpet shampooed so we still couldn't check in unless we wanted a room on the 2nd floor. Prior reviews on Trip Advisor make it clear that there was a lot of street noise, so now we had the option of waiting hours for the 10th floor room or taki
We had a wonderful stay at Dream Midtown. The rooms were clean, but what truly stood out was the exceptional customer service. On our first night, the concierge gave us a great dinner recommendation, and throughout our stay the entire staff was warm and welcoming. We also were allowed to drop off our luggage after checkout while we waited for our late night flight. I also want to highlight my positive interactions with the cleaning staff, who were incredibly friendly and helpful whenever I asked for extra towels or toilet paper. I may be misremembering his name, but Mr. Victor from housekeeping was especially attentive and kind. The location is perfect for anyone visiting New York — close to everything you could need. Will definitely be rebooking on our next visit.
WiFi didn’t work for my 3 days stay at all. Front desk said there’s nothing they could do. 1st room I checked into the toilet seat was shaky n fridge was broken. 2nd room the fridge was not cold enough. Cabinet that contains the fridge has sharp edges I almost cut myself. Some lights didn’t work in both rooms I checked into. Elevator sensor for pressing floor buttons didn’t work most of the time. Firefighter had to come when 1 elevator stopped. Hallway smells bad sometimes. Guys at the concierge always try to get you a taxi for airport even though u told them several times you’ve booked a car.
Hotels in NYC can definitely be a hit or miss, and Dream Midtown is absolutely a hit. The energy of the hotel immediately stood out to me and set a positive tone for the stay. The hotel is located on 55th Street near Times Square and, most importantly for me, close to subway lines that make getting to the airports straightforward and stress free. I was greeted by a warm and efficient check-in agent and was in my room within minutes. The room was comfortable, had ample space for my large suitcase, and offered a great bed for a solid night of rest. One downside is that there is no fridge in the room, but the restaurant downstairs was happy to fill my cooler with ice to keep my medication cold. The gym is not inside the hotel but located a couple of blocks away, which actually worked well for
This is a below average NYC hotel. The good: For tourists, the location is unmatched. Close to absolutely everything including central park. Housekeeping was consistent and prompt. They give you a couple water bottles per day. The concierge and front desk staff are friendly and easy to work with. We were on a higher floor and did not notice too much noise. The bad: The hotel is dated. The lobby has minimal lounge space. The rooms are worn out. Although they appeared clean everytime I was in the room I was constantly sneezing with itchy and watery eyes. This would improve considerably whenever I left the hotel (for perspective I never get allergies). The fridge in the room was broken, the pillows are very flat and the pillows/ bed gave us both neck pain and back aches. We slept very poorl
