DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hotel Paradise Valley - Scottsdale

First of all, my husband and I truly loved our experience at this BEAUTIFUL resort. It really was a little much needed paradise for us both, and we want to come back here again! The only reason this is a 4-star review is because of two situations that the hotel should be aware about and will hopefully work to resolve. 1: The bar at the pool is severely understaffed. There should at least be two bartenders working there, especially during busy hours. We only ever saw one, and she was working herself too hard. Don't get me wrong, every single food and drink item we ordered was perfect and delicious. But seeing that employee struggle to keep up just wasn't fair. I'm a nurse so understand the pressure of being short staffed. It says a lot about a hotel if their staff are treated with respect.

I want to start by saying that all the staff were lovely, wonderful and attentive, but this hotel fell short from my expectations. It is understandable that they are doing renovations, but they absolutely should waive the resort fee, which is $30 a day. Our room layout was extremely odd. The TV was on the dresser right next to the bed so you couldn’t even watch TV comfortably. What bothered me the most is the walls are practically paper thin. You can hear people outside all throughout the night and could probably hear someone cough in the room next to you. It was incredibly aggravating. The AC did not work properly, which made the room feel musty. We would wake up in the middle of the night freezing because the heat would not turn on. Housekeeping was awful. Upon arriving to the hotel, we were pleasantly greeted by Katherine. Checking in went very smoothly and quick. We were also offered chilled water bottles and a warm cookie for each of us. Katherine gave us a map of the beautiful property and gave us very detailed instructions on how to get our room. ||The room was very spacious and clean upon entering. Beds were very comfortable. The toiletries were Crabtree and felt very luxurious. There were lots of guests roaming around the area, but you could not hear them in your room which was great.||The property is very beautiful and easy to navigate. I had a dog with me, so we went wandering about the grounds. There was plenty of grassy areas for my dog to roam (on a leash of course). I especially enjoyed looking at all the different greenery. Our first trip to Scottsdale. the next door unit had 2 dogs barks loudly and they talked loudly from 1-3am so I couldn’t sleep at all. I told resort the next day, front desk manager Catherine was very kind. She moved us to a different room and even waived the charges. I really appreciated how responsive and professional she was. The welcome cookie is freshly baked and swimming pool is huge. There is renovation going on and they close one swimming pool, but they gave 2 complementary drink for the inconveniences. We also had breakfast at the restaurant onsite and the food was nice, service was good. Overall, the stuff is really nice and they really went the extra mile to make sure people had a good time to stay there. I want to say big thanks to them.

Had a very good experience with the hotel and exceptional customer service from Catherine from front desk. There was a flight issue (both on our arrival and departure) and she was able to help to accomodate our needs with our rooms. Made our stay very relaxed and snooth. Hotel also offers free shuttle to old town scottsdale which is very helpful for visitors. hotel facilities are good. highly recommended.
