DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Williamsburg

I had a wonderful experience at the DoubleTree in Williamsburg, and a big part of that was thanks to Terry at the front desk. From the moment I arrived, he was incredibly welcoming, professional, and accommodating. Terry went above and beyond to make sure everything about my stay was smooth and comfortable. He took the time to answer questions, offered helpful recommendations, and made sure all of my needs were taken care of with genuine kindness and efficiency. It’s rare to come across someone who truly cares about the guest experience the way he does. Thank you, Terry, for making my stay so pleasant. The hospitality you showed did not go unnoticed!

We were traveling for the holidays and originally booked two nights at the Hampton Inn. After a disappointing first night there we checked out and moved to the Doubletree where were given a very nice room and greeted warmly. Rich and Regan at the front desk were helpful with making the rest of our short stay a pleasant one. |The bartender, Gabriel, was very accommodating to put on our football game in the sports bar and he made one of the best Old Fashioned I’ve had in a long time! It came smoked under a glass dome! He made our time there relaxing and we felt appreciated as guests.

Positive: The location Negative: The staff, very standoffish especially the bar tender. She focused more on the customers she knew. The food and drinks weren’t good. I had to make her acknowledge me and my husband. The front desk staff overcharged us for parking for a 4 night stay.

This is our fourth or fifth year staying here for AuthorCon. Terry checked us in and was welcoming from the beginning. Everyone on their team embraces Scares that Cares and they go all out to be welcoming of the convention. In previous years the drinks were really expensive, but we found them more reasonably priced this year. The food tends to be expensive for what you get. The hotel rooms could use some updating, especially the bathrooms. The lobby area, bar, cafe and convention areas are nice. Its furthest away from the historical areas, but is perfect if you are specifically going to Busch Gardens. There are a few good restaurants close by, too.

I loved my little experience here thanks to Terry. He's so nice saying hi to everyone when they walk in and talk to them. Im shy right, but I called the front desk to ask a question and then immediately walked over since Terry was able to save me from embarrassment! He just giggled at me laughing at myself and I noticed what a genuine good soul of a person he is that extended beyond customer service. The hotel is nice and everything but he truly made the difference in the environment.
