DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sunrise - Sawgrass Mills

Staff and service people were excellent. Hotel is aging and needs refreshing but still nice. The floor lamp in my room was listing about 30 degrees. I thought oh I can tighten the bolt and fix it. Nope, plate at the bottom was broken (should have taken a picture) I suspect the hotel has financial difficulties. Not the Hilton I'm used to and overpriced. I also didn't like waiting for the bar/restaurant to open at 5 pm. Burger I had was...ok. wouldn't order again. There are plenty of other places to eat nearby. Location great, parking was easy, staff very friendly and helpful, I've stayed here several times, I just adjust, like take my own drinks, snacks and breakfast (20 bucks for 2 eggs, 1 meat and toast is more than I can accept).

We've been in this hotel many, many times before. Both Sawgrass Mills Outlet Mall and Amerant Bank Arena are real close, even walkable and Port Everglades and Ft.Lauderdale Airport are about 15-17 miles away. This time price, especially including breakfast was quite high and it seemed that there hasn't been too much renovations going in recent years, but overall nice 1 night stay. Front desk was friendly, room spacious enough and after shopping all day, bed felt so nice and comfy.

Positive: The bartender is outstanding. He is most if the reason I stay here. Negative: The down comforters were too heavy. They were ok when the air conditioning kicked on and then too hot when it went off. I would like the option of a blanket but there were none in the room.Also the toilet had hot water. Not a discomfort but seemed odd.

We were looking for a close hotel to the Amerant Areana for a WWE event. It ended up being closer than we thought and also walking distance to their huge mall. The beds were very comfortable and clean. The feather comforters and pillows made it feel like it was on the higher end. We didn't get a chance to go swimming but the pool looked very clean and felt like a nice temperature. We ended up walking back to the hotel after our WWE event and saved money by not needing an Uber to either the mall or the areana. Thank you for a great stay and we would stay here again.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Overbooking & Poor Guest Care I stayed at this property after a long international flight with my family, including two young children, and what should have been a smooth arrival turned into a very stressful situation. Upon arrival late at night, we were informed that the hotel had no available rooms due to overbooking. Despite arriving with a confirmed reservation, we were told there was “nothing available” — no room, no proper alternative, and no prior notification.
