Disney's Old Key West Resort

Mixed feelings about this stay. The room was fine, the shower was great (nice water pressure and soaps). As far as cleanliness, it was kept beautifully. However, this must be an older section as doors were missing large spots of paint. As far as service with the staff, there was nothing but confusion. There was an employee who was quite rude to my friend about check in, to the point she had to have a manager (Josh - who was wonderful) brought over. The resort as a whole was lovely and very convenient for getting to parks and Disney Springs. Places to sit and relax. The pool we went to had lots of seating and games for the kids (adults could join in). Overall, a nice stay.

Disney's Old Key West Resort looks amazing. The architecture and exterior colors are spot on, evoking the feel of the real Key West. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed. I love the shower heads as well as Disney's wonderful hand soap, shampoo and body wash. My only real complaint (and it is a significant one) is the lack of elevators. This would not be a problem if all of the units were on the ground, or even the second floor. But no, some units are on the third floor. This poses quite a problem in transporting your luggage up to your room. Plan your stay accordingly.

We stayed here in November 2025. Overall, it was a nice resort, though the distance to the parks did get a bit annoying, especially since so many other Disney resorts are located much closer. The one issue that really stood out was the smell outside at night. Based on what I’ve read online, it seems to come from stagnant water around the grounds, and for whatever reason, it tends to be most noticeable in the evenings. With everything Disney is capable of, it’s surprising that this hasn’t been addressed yet. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and I would still recommend this resort overall.

We had a two bedroom which is a combination of a one bedroom and a studio put together it was very comfortable we had six people staying in it. With the washer and dryer is quite convenient to be able to clean clothes when necessary. Disney’s Oak Key West is one of our favorite DVC properties. It is a bit older because it is older they used to build their rooms with more space.

Key West is all about where you are. This trip we were up front by the main building. Last time we were as far away as you can get from the main building. This matters on how much you want to rely on quick service. Mug refill community events. We like those services. If you fully live in your resort room and don’t need those services then the bank may not matter. Quick service menu is extremely limited but good. Rooms are very spacious and our family was quite comfortable.
