We enjoyed our stay. First, this is a budget hotel, so we knew we were going to get what we paid for. The room does need work: furniture was scratched, bathroom floor was uneven, and the walls clearly need a new paint job. Included breakfast is a take-out container. What makes this hotel a great value is the location! We stayed in San Diego to see a production of Wicked. From the hotel to San Diego Civic Theatre, it was a nine minute walk. The neighborhood felt safe as the hotel was by luxury apartments. Next day, we drove to the zoo, which was about a six minute drive. Good news! I noticed a painting crew as I left my stay. That tells me management plans in updating the hotel. As long they work on the visual look of the rooms, I think it is worth staying.

I am seeking a full refund for our stay at Days Inn San Deigo. The stay here was beyond the worst experience my family has ever had at a hotel. We booked for the included breakfast and on-site laundry, neither of which were available during our stay because of the construction going on at the hotel. We were not advised of the construction before our stay, and if we had of known, we would have immediately booked elsewhere as we have 2 small children that were woken at 7am every morning to drilling, hammering and other loud construction noises. Our shoes, luggage and belongings were also covered in construction dust for the entirety of the stay, and transferred to our car, which resulted in a cleaning fee from the car hire company. The TV in the room didn't work, the lock on the door failed

Reserved for San Diego location with breakfast we quickly learned the "chef" quit and no breakfast. Outside the paint is peeling and looks decrepit. The elevator floor is filthy and cracked open with filthy windows. The room two queen beds as promised , clean. Cold in San Diego with temperatures down to 40degree F. heater blew the fuses and lights within 10 minutes of turning on. Staff came and reset the "breaker". Blew again. After three dangerous blowing of the circuits and lights n ow we were in nighttime. No other room available as we were booked for 3 nights. No options. Gave us extra blanket We got symptomatic hypothermia. Sick overnight. Went to car to get warm. ||In morning we survived. Finally clerk agreed to move our room while we were out touring San Diego. ||WE w

The rooms are shockingly dingy and out of date. The are no outlets next to the bed to charge anything. One of the lamps in our room didn't work. There are cords hanging around the room and loosely running along the floor for the TV and power. There is an alarming leak of privacy. The windows and walls are so thin that you hear everything outside and we are sure that the people outside can hear everything in our room. There is constant road noise and nothing to dampen it. The elevator is tiny and in complete disrepair. While this is a budget motel, its quality doesn't even live up to the low cost.

Decent stay at best, but great and safe location. Within walking distance to downtown, rooms looked updated and more modern than the pics I saw online so that was pleasant surprise, plus no carpet. Only thing I’d really complain on is the pillows are terrible, and the shower had low water pressure. Wasn’t a bad stay overall, I’d just say they need some improvements. But it’s a safe area compared to others. Also parking is not free
