We were to pass through Amarillo so I booked us a single night stay at the Days Inn Amarillo East the day before. Was looking for clean place not far from interstate 40 and on a Saturday night. Several other choices were already booked up so it was slim pickings. I booked a non-smoking room with 2 queen beds. The day of check in while driving to Amarillo, I get a phone call by management that the room I booked was unavailable, however, they could offer me a similar room with double beds (full sized) instead. As previously stated it was a Saturday night stay and the surrounding hotels were all booked up so I had no choice. Once I arrived the man who called me was on desk duty and told me this was the best he could do and offered me a small $10 discount after I complained about it. The room
Upon arrival, the parking lot really needs maintenance, but the hotel itself appears to be well maintained. Once inside, the lobby is clean, clear of clutter and debris, and inviting. The check-in process was quick and easy. The elevator ride to the second floor was smooth. We had only one problem with the room and that was quickly remedied. The bed was was comfortable, which was well appreciated. The room was clean. You can see the signs of a long and high trafficked hotel, but comfortable and clean is paramount. The breakfast was minimal and had little to offer in our opinion, but we found something we could live with. We had a nice quiet and comfortable stay.
Honest review. I stayed here on November 19, 2025. I booked a deluxe King room through Expedia. I was assigned room 229 for which I have pictures for you to see. Upon walking into the room, I could tell it was a worn down room And the bed had wrinkles on the sheets as if somebody was just sitting there. I told myself whatever it’s only for the night and I get what I paid for so I was willing to make Do. Then I tried to turn the heater on and found out that it didn’t work. I tried to close the blinds and realized that I was pulling on a coat hanger. The carpet had tears and rips all over it. The wall looked like it was molding. See pictures. The bathroom lighting had different color bulbs in it and different size bulbs. See pictures. Since it was 45° outside, I went to the front desk to req
Checked in at 3:30 AM (December 31st) after a long journey and was not informed of any ongoing renovations. The hallway on the third floor smelled strongly of fresh paint, but we were exhausted and went to sleep anyway. At around 8:10 AM, loud drilling and hammering started directly near our room and continued nonstop. When I called the front desk, I was told that renovations were ongoing and that nothing could be done. When I asked why we were placed near an active construction area or at least not warned the front desk employee repeatedly said “I didn’t check you in” and took no responsibility. When I asked to speak with a manager, the same employee became rude and dismissive, saying it was my fault for checking in at 3:30 AM and that I could “just leave.” He refused to call a manager, o
We stayed here the night of Friday October 10th, the first day of our 9 day road trip to the grand canyon from Missouri and back up through Utah and Colorado. We were originally going to camp but all camp sites in the area were filled up so we got this very cheap room, I believe i paid $69 total. Wasn't expecting much from a 2 star hotel. The room was very clean, had nice clean towels and toiletries and everything worked perfectly, I was very pleasantly surprised as this was probably the cheapest hotel room I've ever gotten. We arrived very late (1am) and checked out early as we had to drive all the way across New Mexico the next day. Because of the rush, my autistic daughter forgot her Ducky in the room, this is an extremely old worn out stuffed animal that she has had for 9 years and mea
