When we arrived, I immediately called around to different campgrounds to see if they had availability. The driveway into the campground is very steep and narrow, grass had not been mowed and two old school buses and other run down buildings made the property look like a junk yard. Fire pit was nice. Did not see anyone and no one checked on us. Out site was the only site that didn't have a picnic table (all others were chained down) Price was super nice though. Coffee Shop was nice, but expensive ($35 for two orders of biscuts & gravy, french toast and three coffees). I was super nervous about pulling out of the steep drive way without the camper... I was even more nervous pulling out with our 27 foot camper (had to put it in 4 wheel drive).
I didnt know what to expect here, as you purchase your stay at the coffee house. But we ended up pretty darn happy. Got a great spot by the river with fire pit and picnic table. Level ground. While the portapotties were pretty ripe, the bathrooms at the coffee house were immaculate and for campground use (and we got our steps in getting up there!). I wouldn't recommend this place if you have limited mobility and need to use the bathroom frequently! But it sure worked for us. So much so we grabbed a second night. Excellent location, close to everything we wanted to be near. The staff at both the coffee house and that look over the campground were fantastic, and the other campers were awesome too. We will be back!
We stayed here for a long weekend and had a good time. Great location! But be careful driving in, there is a steep and windy hill down that is pretty sketchy pulling a camper. Other than that we loved being able to walk up to the coffee shop and enjoyed hanging out by the river!
The grass had not been cut and was very long. No showers or restrooms at the campsite. The coffee shop was nice, and the staff was friendly. Prices were not listed on the menu, and they were a little pricey for a small coffee shop.
The cheapest full-hookup RV sites you will find in the RRG area if that is what you are looking for. Never saw or spoke to staff but check-in was easy. Absolutely no amenities - including no cell signal (VZW). There was standing water around some sites which will be an issue in warmer weather. Somewhat quiet but you can hear road noise. Coffee shop in front has decent breakfast and firewood and staff is friendly enough.
