Curtiss Hotel

An absolute gem! Our stay at the Curtiss was perfect. The staff recognized that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and greeted us accordingly. The room was impeccable, the integrated in-room tech is a distinct plus. The main lobby, bar, and restaurant were all perfectly charming. We did not take advantage of the urban hot springs, but it’s a cool set up. The Vue Rooftop Bar is also a high point and we loved the live music Friday evening. The complementary breakfast bar was also a welcome feature. While you could spend the weekend inside the hotel, there are great, walkable restaurants and bars within a block or two of the location. We can also see that Buffalo is investing in the Main Street infrastructure on our walk down to Canalside. This is a boutique hotel done right!

Beautiful hotel room! Wonderful bathroom & very large shower with very modern numerous shower heads. Very handicapped accessible. Everything was high tech & controlled by an IPad which was unique. The decor was art deco & very lovely. The king-sized bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast was served in a lovely dining area & very generous. The valet parking was very efficient & appreciated. Our only complaint was that the elevator & room lighting was on the dark side, and could have been a little brighter. We would highly recommend your hotel & not hesitate to book a room in the future!

I’m very disappointed with my experience at The Curtiss Hotel. I brought my wife there for a special evening because she is currently battling breast cancer. Between treatments, appointments, and the financial strain that comes with this diagnosis, I simply wanted to give her one peaceful night to feel uplifted during an incredibly difficult time in our lives. Unfortunately, we were double charged $104.40 for our dinner. I spoke with three different staff members, and each assured me the error would be corrected immediately. Despite those assurances, the charge remains, and I have received no follow-up communication. Mistakes can happen. What has been most disappointing is the lack of follow-through and accountability. Overall, a great hotel experience. Pros: good location (a block or two from the historic city hall; short drive to canalside, the original anchor bar, etc.), very friendly staff, really neat hot tub/hot spring that is both indoor and mostly outdoor, complimentary breakfast and coffee/bottled water in your room, valet is also included, smart features in hotel rooms including ipad controlling lights, room service/valet requests, beautiful bathrooms with smart shower features and a bidet, etc. Cons: microwaves don't come standard in rooms at this hotel that is commonly advertised as "the only 5-star boutique hotel in Buffalo" so the only way they'd let me use a microwave during my stay was by having a staff member physically bring a microwave to my room. Booked this as a married get away for a few days. We have had lunch here and the food was amazing. When we arrived, everyone was so pleasant and helpful. We had a drink then went into the hot spa. How enjoyable...was a first for us. So different than hot tub. Nice and toasty warm sitting outside looking at the sky. What an amazing experience. The room was lovely and comfortable. Breakfast was a nice touch.
