Crystal Lake Motel

Save yourselves, and avoid this place. From check in to departure, this was not just unbelievably disgusting, but insulting and ridiculous. At check in the desk person said I smelled of dog (Ah, that third-world etiquette!) and went on a rant going over the no pets rule. I explained I have a French Bulldog, but that he was not accompanying me on this trip. And my Frenchie is regularly groomed and always smells fresh and clean, unlike this motel and some of those "working" there. Still, he seemed sure I was hiding a dog. It was insane, and I would have walked out immediately, but the 0 degree weather and snow seemed worse than this experience so far. Little did I know. The rooms are simply vile. Let me preface by saying I am a travel agent, and have been in the industry for over 25 years.||While undergoing some life changes, I was in need of some hotel stays. Recently, the weekend hit and the hotel rates skyrocketed. I wound up booking the Crystal Lake Motel to save money. Benny was nice over the phone, though he initially said $65 with tax, but when I called back he said $75. Ok, no big deal.||I arrived the motel and was underwhelmed upon initial glance, but decided to make the best of it. Directed to room 102, The room reeked of smoke and the floor and bedding were very dirty. The walls were climbing with stains and grime. I didn’t even want to put my bags on the bed. ||I almost immediately left the room for a walk and breath of fresh air.||Returned to the room and kept quiet an

I stayed here for awhile, it was absolutely perfect, the room was very clean, the staff are friendly, especially Benny, He is amazing and will take care of you. I highly recommend this place. It deserves the payment. I will stay here again and again and will visit Benny when I can, he is very nice guy and deserves the best

Well just had one of the worst experiences of my life! I was woken up this morning by the manager banging on the door attempting to enter the code and open door for entry! I did not like the fact only one lock with keypad entry was the only door security. I did purchase a door security pole just for additional security. Must of been due to my awareness something was off at this place. Back to my AM wake up, I got out of bed as the door shook and I heard Benny aka. Manager/Owner telling me rudely what am I doing. As I started to say what are you doing you just can’t come in to someone’s room and walk in as they are asleep. Initially, I was supposed to stay a couple weeks here to a one bedroom unit, which was not available. So I asked if I could just stay in a two bedroom for the time being
