Crowne Plaza Atlanta - Midtown by IHG

My understanding is that Marriott has acquired the Crowne Plaza and will fully renovate the hotel in 2026. That may explain why IHG has not invested much money to fix the current problems. I stayed there for eight nights for two different conferences and everyone else I spoke to had complaints. One colleague even gave up and switched to a different hotel after she told me her first room was filthy and her second room had a carpet that was totally wet. Almost everyone experienced water in sinks and showers that never got hotter than lukewarm. The ice machines on many floors do not work and rooms do not have mini-fridges. The windows need better sound proofing. I tried calling the front desk several times from my room, but nobody every answered, so I had to go downstairs to speak to someone.

Our stay did not meet basic hospitality standards. During our visit There was no Wi-Fi available for the duration of our stay. Room service was unavailable. Breakfast was advertised from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., yet when we arrived at approximately 9:00 a.m., service was already closing and only limited items were available. The room phone did not work, preventing us from contacting housekeeping. Despite requesting towels in person at the front desk, they were never delivered, requiring a second trip to obtain them ourselves. We were informed there was no housekeeping service at all. Our room was never cleaned, and trash from two nights and one full day remained in the room for our entire stay, creating an unsanitary and extremely unpleasant environment especially while traveling with chil

There was no water or AC! Could not shower or use the toilet. Only because I asked did they give me some bottled water to brush my teeth. Only because I asked they helped me find another place to stay. The conference I was at was sweltering and a couple of times I got really dizzy from being overheated. Staff did not seem to care. They would listen to a request and call a manager on the cell phone but the manager never came out or dealt with anything. the worst part is that the front desk never picks up the phone. Not if you call from inside the hotel or on your cell phone from outside of it. **** Even though I left after one night and they assured me that I would not be charged, they charged me for 4 nights! This hotel was exceptionally difficult to locate. Furthermore, they do not provide complimentary parking; the paid lot is also situated far from the hotel building.I encountered significant issues with their payment system. They do not accept cash for parking, and during check-in, my credit card was charged a deposit with the assurance of a refund within 24 hours of checkout. It has now been 72 hours since I departed, and the refund has not been processed. My attempts to resolve this via email have been ignored, as I have received no response.

I do not plan on returning to this hotel.. the heat was not working and it’s December. It remained on 65 degrees my entire 5 day stay! The cleanliness was not good at all! There were no trash cans in the room to even try to keep the room clean myself. I will note that valet service was very kind and helpful! The location is good because it’s downtown but this hotel needs to do better with being clean. And start thinking about having microwaves in each room. My key card worked on and off I was just over it after a while.
