Courtyard by Marriott New York Manhattan/Times Square

We went over MLK weekend. I wasn’t sure what to expect given some of the reviews, but we had a great experience with this hotel and we would stay again. We traveled with our 2 children (tween and teen). Everyone at the front desk and the bellhop area were friendly, kind, and helpful. We stored our luggage early until our room was ready. We had a great view of the Empire State Building. Our room was cleaned and checked every day. When you turn left on the street at the front of the hotel, delivery bike drivers stand there and smoke weed. We didn’t like walking thru this. This was an easy fix. Cross the street in front of the hotel and walk by the CVS. We saw police hanging out near the CVS too just monitoring the area. Easy walk to Times Square. Easy walk to Bryant Park and the subway. Visited NYC for trade shows in late Jan 2026 and stayed here for about 5 days. Staff has been amazing and professional! Really want to thank Miguel for letting us check in early and giving us a better room upon request. Something to improve on: the shower head holders seem to be kinda loose. Also wish there’s lotion provided. But those are minor points… Convenient location and great staff! Will stay here again! :)

Positive: The staff was excellent and the hotel was clean. The beds were comfortable but the rooms were tiny. the shower had low water pressure and it dripped. Negative: The street was closed and there were workers and large cranes in front of the building. We had to walk a block to get a cab or uber.

It has been a week since Thanksgiving morning when I checked out from my 6 night stay at the Courtyard by Marriott on 40th Street near Times Square in New York City. I feel terrible that it's taken me this long to thank, acknowledge, and recognize the General Manager, Allan (A-Rod!) Rodriguez, and his entire team at this property for the wonderful experience I enjoyed while staying there.||Allan is one of the finest "lead by example" and, "servant-oriented" hotel management leaders I have ever experienced in my many years of domestic and international travel. ⭐️⭐️ 2/5 Stars I had a late check-in after a long day of travel and was tired, so I didn’t make a scene or request a room change that night. However, upon arrival I noticed a visible stain on the bedspread (unsure if it was makeup, blood, or something else) and the shower was not clean. Because it was late, I simply slept on the opposite end of the bed and addressed the issue the following morning. Housekeeping did change the sheets after I reported it, which I appreciate, but first impressions matter especially at a Marriott property. I typically stay at Hilton hotels and decided to give Marriott a try on this trip.
