Courtyard by Marriott Macon

Traveling by car from Minnesota to Florida and we stopped in Macon for one night. The first room we were given at the Courtyard had a leak in the tub faucet, constant stream of water. Front desk clerk moved us to a 2nd room, but the keycards did not work so there was a delay. Moved our luggage to the 2nd room - I had a migraine and tried to take a nap but the family in the next room was so loud I went to Barbara at the front desk to request another room. She was so kind! Moved us to a 3rd room on the 3rd floor where it was quieter. (Other than the train tracks nearby!) Hotel is older but clean. No in-room safe but small fridge and microwave and comfy beds.

My stay at the Courtyard Marriott was fantastic overall! The best part of my visit was the outstanding service provided by the entire staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience . The hotel's location is also a major plus. It was perfectly situated for everything we needed to do, making navigation simple and convenient. It is a pinch older, but well kept. The only minor downside was that they no longer offer free coffee in the lobby in the morning; which they do at Fairfield, Townplace, and other Marriotts. Now, you now have to purchase it from the 'restaurant'. While this isn't a dealbreaker, that complimentary cup of morning coffee was a nice touch that is now missed. Positive: Clean, convenient and cozy. We like the pillows, amenities offered (mini fridge, microwave, coffee in room). Nice cozy lobby area with fireplace Negative: It has that popcorn ceiling and TV remote was fussy initially but finally got it to work, so a little outdated for our taste. The residence inn nearby offered free breakfast and my husband choice this trip is the residence inn.

The location is good and the downstairs area is updated well. However, the room and elevator are ancient. The TVs don't have normal apps you see at most places. The stay was alright, but I'll probably look for another when I'm in the area again.

Some parts of the hotel were a little dirty, but overall it was fine. I'm giving it 3 stars just because I've never had a hotel decline to give me free water bottles, and also be out of toothbrushes. To me, those are just basics of being at a hotel. I was also told that they didn't have any of those water bottle refilling stations, and just a little water tank by the entrance. The location is fairly sad, if you like being away from everything, you'll enjoy it here, but otherwise it's pretty isolated. There's also not many street lamps outside so it's very dark on the roads nearby.
