Courtyard by Marriott High Point

My new favorite Hotel! Room layout was awesome. The food there is the best of any business traveler hotel I have ever stayed at! The food was really good and breakfast potatoes and peanut butter and banana Berry toast was awesome!

If I could give zero, I would. I booked 4 rooms after being displaced due to a power outage. Each room was 33,000 points. We checked in at about 11pm and were out at about 8am since power at our Airbnb was back on. One of the rooms did not have a working shower. I spoke with the Guest Relations manager after checking out and explained the situation. I requested the points for the one room to be refunded. The manger said she would speak with the GM to resolve the situation. A week goes by and I still had not heard back. I called back to check the status and was told the GM would give me 5,000 points. 5,000 points when I have literally spent 122,000 for 8 hrs. I have been a Titanium Elite member since Titanium was put in place and to have such a dismissive response by a GM is totally unacce

Positive: Location was nice. Hotel was clean and front desk staff was friendly. Negative: We used the pull out couch for my son. It had not been cleaned. The coffee machine was broken (which they did come and fix) and the beds were not very comfortable.

It's not a great Courtyard, but if you have to be in High Point, your options are limited. I was most concerned about cleanliness. I found the smells of cleaning products overwhelming, almost as if they were hiding a bad smell. My daughter's white socks were brown after a night of walking around in the room. It just has a yucky feel to it and was very musty. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the towels were very thin. It has all the hallmarks of a hotel run by owners who don't reinvest in it. The staff were very friendly and I appreciated that.

Didn't love the room to be honest. It was a little dark maybe more lighting could help. It was clean. The gym was small but a few treadmills just a wee little space to stretch or workout but it was fine. The starbucks service was great. Truly what I loved were the people. Always a lovely staff member welcoming you and smiling. Just genuine good humans. Five stars for the people that work here. Marriott does not disappoint.
