Nice location. Hotel room was clean however the beds were uncomfortable. Too firm. I was very disappointed about their pool. On their website, it states “heated” pool and before booking room (which was the same day of my check-in) I confirmed with an employee at the location that the pool is heated. The water was COLD. I informed a front desk clerk of the issue and I was told the pool is only heated during cold months and it’s nothing she could do. I asked for a discount due to given wrong information from website and from an employee. I was told that will not happen and her manager will not give a discount as well. The clerk also stated the only way I can be accommodated if I become a Marriott member to receive additional points for the misinformation. The heated pool was one of the main

TLDR; not so bad that I'd ask for my money back but I definitely won't be coming back. The rooms are fine. The shower is my biggest complaint for the room. I was in the room for 4 days and each time I took a shower, I was freezing because there is no door to the shower area. Other than that, the rooms are fine. They don't have free breakfast in the mornings which was a huge downside. I've been to several other hotels in the area at comparable price points that have complementary breakfast and coffee but it's not available here. There is a small restaurant but it's an additional charge. The gym is another reason for 3 stars. There are a couple treadmills, a bench, and a dumbbell set that only goes up to 50 lbs. Positive: I would have to say the staff was the best thing about this hotel. They are the meaning of southern hospitality. They were friendly, welcoming, respectful, and polite. They made us want to book with them again. Negative: No.

We spent one night at the Courtyard in Spring Lake on our way to Florida. While we started a little shaky with a room without heat, we were moved to a new room immediately. |We went to the Bistro to have a drink and a light meal. This was an outstanding experience. Derrick was the server and Don the Chef. They are two awesome guys. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent. My wife and I split a grilled cheese and tomato soup. The soup was one of the best that I have had. Derrick and Don are really nice guys who make you feel appreciated. We had an awesome time.|In the morning, we went back to the Bistro for breakfast. In all my travels I have had a lot of hotel food. This Courtyard in Spring Lake is by far the best. Chef Don was extremely friendly and makes incredibly tasty food. Tonight I had the tomato soup and I told him he will give my mom a run for her money. The soup was delicious. I also came back tonight for another chicken Caesar salad. Chef Don is definitely an asset to this hotel. My hat definitely goes off to the chef.
