Comfort Inn & Suites Spring Lake - Fayetteville near Fort Bragg

This is an odd hotel... A Comfort Inn and a Quality Inn have been joined together, and the renovation is incomplete. In some places, there are formerly outdoor hallways that have been enclosed to be indoor hallways, but are still designed as external hallways with windows. It is the mating of a motel and a hotel, with the worst of each. Despite that, I have given the hotel a couple more stars. Because the rooms are modern, clean, and well appointed. The rooms frankly looked better from the inside. Then, one may expect when looking from the outside. The best physical plant in the world is irrelevant without good staff, and, I found this staff to be courteous and helpful at all times.

Kierstan was a rock star at the front desk . I had an issue with booking a room and she did an outstanding job getting me squared away. It was a pleasure to meet and deal with her. Other then a few things out of her control with the room I would have gave the room 5 stars. I would stay here again in the future.

My most recent stay was the second time I’ve visited the Comfort Inn at Spring Lake. I stayed a month prior to this visit. The first time I noticed a lingering smell of cigarette smoke in the lobby that was still there the next month. The smell didn’t transpire to the rooms but it was unsettling considering that was my first impression. The first visit was nice, which is why I decided to book again for my next trip. This second time, when I walked into my room it smelled like mildew/musty. I wasn’t sure if it was my imagination or the humidity in the room since the air felt warm. I turned on the AC and decided to wait until the next day. When I returned back to the room the next day, the smell was still there. I did not mention it to the hotel staff because I wasn’t convinced that it was

The room was cleaned and maintained well. The building is an older building. The carpets could use cleaning. 5 minutes from base.
