Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Atlanta Downtown

This hotel is deceiving. Its located in a very unsafe neighborhood as my 3 different Uber drivers told me. Its definitely not a 3 star hotel but more if a 2 star. The lobby is ok but the residence hallways and bedrooms are dated. The level we were on smelled strongly of pee and cigarette smoke right out of the elevator. The 1st room we received was not cleaned well and the toilet was overflowing with feces. The second room smelled of chlorine. The beds are hard and you only get sheets - no comforter. I would not recommend this hotel. Also they have a worker to monitor the food during breakfast which makes it a bit uncomfortable.

I stayed from Dec 20th–22nd and would definitely stay again. I’m use to valet parking and high-rise hotels with rooftop bars, but with the holidays approaching, I had other priorities. This hotel did not disappoint. Everyone I encountered was pleasant and polite. I know I can be a bit difficult at times, but the customer service exceeded my expectations. The hot breakfast was good, the bed was comfortable, and everything was nice and clean. Check-in was quick and easy. For the price and level of service you receive, it’s unbeatable. GiGi is truly a great asset to the company.

Let me start by saying that the staff was amazing. Every interaction was wonderful. However, there were a few things that definitely need to be addressed. First of all, your security deposit is far too high. There was mold on the ceiling in the shower and the bathroom sink would not run down the drain. It would just fill up when we used it.

Hotel was nice, service was good. The main detractor was that it's located beside a major freeway in Atlanta. From 9pm to 4am, and starts again about 6am, there are constant police and emergency sirens going in every direction around the hotel. We were woken up not less than 8 times in our one evening by sirens. This isn't anything the hotel could fix, but you should be aware if your not used to the sound of crime. We were also woken up another 4 or 5 times by people going in and out of the service door that happened to be directly across from our room. This service door set off an alarm when opened and slammed shut. Needless to say, we were not well rested after our stay here. To be frank, this place is a dump. I needed to use the restroom after my drive, but I had to get a key from the front desk to use the bathroom in the lobby. Bad sign. There were multiple signs warning about usage of the bathroom. I wish I had heeded them until I got to my room. I've seen highway gas stations in better shape than that restroom in the lobby. That is pretty indicative of the state of the entire property. The rooms have been upgraded in the last few years, apparently. But everything else is pretty bad. There are warnings all over the property about hotel etiquette, as well as in the paperwork received at check-in. That leads me to believe that such things are necessary due to the general clientele.
