Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Amarillo I-40 West, TX

The hotel was convenient, pet friendly and clean. Yes, there are some updates that should be made to the carpet and the furniture. But having said that the beds were so comfortable, the sheets soft, and the pillows just the right amount of soft and firm. I would like to compliment the desk clerk, Alfonso, who was there to check us in. He was so nice. Friendly, professional and kind. We asked for extra blankets, and later some cutlery and napkins for our take-out dinner. He could not have been more accommodating. Please pass on our gratitude to him. He’s wonderful.

We had a very good experience with Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Amarillo I-40 West. Check in was very pleasant and efficient. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We loved the hot tub and the pool area was exquisite. Unfortunately, the pool was heated only to 81 degrees. A little too cool for our taste. Was quite disappointed with this, as we enjoy pool exercise and I try to book lodging with heated pools. It was stated to have been heated to 86 degrees. But, my Apple Watch read differently when submerged down 2 feet. The breakfast was good as well. Lots of options for all to enjoy. Loved the chocolate chip cookies that welcomed you. Really enjoyed our stay here.

Comfortable, quiet hotel that was a great stop after a long day of driving. Room was big, bed was good, and there was a good reading chair. The building was brick and felt more solid than a lot of properties. I really appreciated the central indoor staircase; it meant I could walk my dog without waiting for an elevator or going down long hallways. The staffers were super friendly, and the breakfast room was quiet and nice. |And a cool grotto-like pool, if you're looking for that.

Horrible sleep. If you want sleep go somewhere else. We stayed here on two different days over a week and a half to and from our “vacation spot” visiting family. The rooms are hot hot hot and dry dry dry! I sleep cold to top it off and still couldn’t sleep! The temperature control had heat, fan, or dry settings only. The windows open but because our room faced the loud highway we couldn’t sleep with it open. The windows are like paper thin and the wind woke me and my family up at 3am! We have a 1 year old who couldn’t sleep because of it. And of course this happened when the room finally got cool enough to sleep. I’m 5’7 and the shower head was placed low on the wall for someone of the height of 5’5 or shorter. How the heck do any of the tall men shower in there? I’m thankful the water

Here's what you want to know: the hotel is great. It's far enough off the highway you can't hear it. It's pretty quiet. It's clean. The staff is great. The beds are comfortable. The shower is hot and the pressure is good. Free breakfast is also, good. Other things to consider: if you're over 6' tall, the shower might be a bit of an issue. And the hotel is older. Could do with some new paint, carpet, fixtures, etc. The tile/grout in our bathroom was cracked/missing in parts. These issues are cosmetic and do not detract from the overall quality of the hotel. I'd definitely stay again if we happen to be in Amarillo!
