Cottage In the Lane

Amazing communication, cottage, location and overall accommodations for our first trip to Maine with friends (who stayed in the cabin right next door). Highly recommend and would go back again with out hesitation.

This is our home away from home. It is quiet, beautiful, clean, and comfortable. We love the pool and the easy walk/drive to the beach! The cottages are set up with everything needed to make the stay relaxing. The hosts communicate well! We love this place!

Great family oriented cottages. Very clean and well stocked with kitchen utensils. Drake's Island beach is down the street. Nice solar heated pool. (Treated with saline instead of chlorine, much less harsh) Good coin - op laundry with two sets of machines. It back up to a wildlife preserve so it is very quiet and sunrise is beautiful. Pedestal style charcoal grills and picnic table . Lots of well manicured lawn for the kids to play. Our family of four has stayed at other, more expensive cottages in Wells and we like this place much better. The website does not do it justice. We look forward to coming back next summer. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

My wife and I, our 16-year-old twins, my wife’s sister and her husband, and my in-laws/the grandparents booked three cottages at Cottage In The Lane for a family reunion/holiday this June. We typically book cottages near a lake in the Adirondacks (NY) that never include sheets or towels or a pool, so we decided this time to pivot to a Maine vacation at a place with all of those great amenities—near an ocean. This was one of the best vacations we have ever had! Each of our cottages was squeaky clean, the beds were supremely comfortable, air conditioning was reliable, fans were included, and having plentiful towels, plus a washer and dryer and clothesline on site, were all amazing. We lingered outside at our picnic table by the marsh having breakfast and listening to the birds each morning,

We have stayed in the area many times, always someplace more expensive, but just found this gem and couldn't be more pleased! Our 2 bedroom cottage was perfect for our family of four (kids ages 3 & 6). The owners were as friendly and nice in person as they were easy to book with online. With only 11 cottages it's very quiet and the (heated) pool and play area are never crowded. We were in number 11 which was on the end next to the nature preserve, so even a little more private than some of the others, but really, there are no bad spots. The cottage was very clean and well equipped with about anything you could need - we did bring paper towels, but other than that, I can't think of anything else we brought that they didn't already have.
