Comfort Suites University

This is a comfort suites not the Ritz Carlton. That being said, my room was clean, I was greeted with a smile, and the breakfasts was good. I will stay here again next time I'm in Lubbock.

When making reservation I called to ask if I could pay for an early check in. Front desk stated earliest could be at 3pm if housekeeper had room available. Showed up at 3 and front desk gentleman was very rude. Lady working morning shift said Room was available. Gentleman was afternoon shift and was very rude and said no I had to wait for 4pm. I offered to pay extra. He has no business working front desk. We traveled far with my mom who has stage 4 cancer and needed to get her into a room to rest. I could not cancel reservations or I would have walked out. Thank you to the lady working front desk and checking us in even though it was time for her to go home. She stated I’ll check you in cause he said no. Gentleman was upset about it and just kept shaking his head and repeating 4pm over and

When arriving there, they had no room availability, even when the check-in time was at 4pm, and we arrived at past 5pm. The front desk person would not do anything to help us with our issue wince we had a person coming out of the hospital, and his solution was for us to "Wait and have a trip for around one hour", which we had no time for those things. I asked to speak to a manager and she helped us get another room. The service was not the best but we ended up getting a room. I also asked to cancel the reservation because it was critical for my brother to lay down, since he has several surgeries and could not be in the car for long. It could have been better but we got a room in the end.

The rooms were not clean. The floor was left un vacuumed and I dropped something and could find it so I had to get on the floor and under the bed up against the part that blocks the floor off were so disgusting. Not cleaned for a very long time, there was food and other things up against the base. The tv didn’t work, you could get in the hot tub because it had way too much of something it in and the bubbles were foaming over the top of it. The breakfast was pretty standard and not bad so that’s why I choose 3 stars instead of 2. The only decent thing about the stay.

We come to Lubbock once a year for dental appointments for my special needs adult son and we always stay at this hotel. Our experience has always been great. The hotel is always clean, the staff are very friendly and the price is very reasonable. I recommend this hotel every time anyone asks where we stay. The location is easy to get too, it's close to restaurants, shopping and it's just minutes from the medical district and Texas Tech.
