Comfort Suites Columbia - University Area

All rooms remodeled. Has carpet in rooms except for bathroom and entryway which is what we prefer.. Nice room and owners are very nice. We stayed here twice and came back the second time because the rates were reasonable and the owner was a nice fella.

I have stayed at this property many times in the past and have always been satisfied. On this visit I discovered they are in the middle of a refresh of the entire facility it seems. (Lobby, stairs and such pretty well in the middle of old and new, which is not a problem). Near as I could tell the guest rooms had all been updated, and this is where it was a little disappointing. I was surprised at the amount of little things that were seemingly rushed and not followed up on. It appeared all the fixed lamp fixtures were all a little crooked, some of the old phone/network wall-plates were hanging loose and not re-attached to the walls. Arrived around 8:00 PM Jan 14 for overnight stay that my husband had reserved. Husband had called prior to making reservation that it was pet friendly and was told that they were. Checked in and as husband was bringing our med sized dog in, he was told no dogs allowed. Husband confirmed that he had called prior to making the reservation to confirm. Husband was accused of lying about his call and we were told to leave. Manager refused to meet with us, desk clerk was asked to possibly assist us in finding a place to stay since it was about 8:30 PM by this time. He said No. There was no apologies or sorry just rudeness. Horrible customer service.

Room was comfortable, bed was comfortable. After we arrived and sat down we noticed a box sitting next to the sofa between the desk and looked at it and opened it and it was an empty wine bottle. So evidently the room didn’t get cleaned quite like it should. Breakfast was very busy because they had college frisbee teams staying there this night and there was about 30 people in the breakfast area, the gravy was cold the eggs were not very good. Waffle was good with the waffle maker, didn’t see any fruit like bananas or oranges. So I would give this a About a five out of 10 score on the breakfast

Well the construction in the building suggests that it's being done in house and it is very unprofessional. Any professional knows that you have to bring your flooring inside to acclimate for 48 hours before laying it. Otherwise you will end up with huge gaps in the floor. The painting is poorly done and there is residue all over everything. The stairwell is complete disaster and nasty. If you're going to remodel, you might as well replace the washer and dryer too in the guest laundry because it sucked. After three dryings, one change of clothes were still not dry! Staff only acknowledged me one time. Otherwise they were on the personal phones and didn't even bother to look up. This is the third time I've gone to a comfort inn and suites to be extremely disappointed in the brand that the P
