Comfort Suites Chicago O'Hare Airport

Our family has stayed at Comfort Suites Chicago O’Hare Airport several times over the years and it has always been a good value for the cost. It’s typically very affordable, the beds are comfortable, and the rooms have always been clean—so we felt confident booking again when we were back in the area this week. Unfortunately, it had been about three years since our last stay, and we were honestly shocked by how run down the hotel has become. Right away there were signs of deferred maintenance. One elevator was out of order, and the one that was working had chipped tile on the floor and streaks all over the doors. The hotel itself is very good, but unfortunately the staff experience was poor. The front desk staff were more focused on their phones than on assisting guests. I called on the 10th at 8:35 AM to inquire about Deposit,The front desk lady was not interested in checking my booking or confirming whether the deposit had been returned. I had to repeatedly insist and provide my booking number before she agreed to check and after about to finish the call she hang the call . When I arrived, I waited nearly two hours for the pickup. I kept calling and only wanted honest information—whether they would come to pick us up or not, and at what time. Instead, I was given inconsistent information. First of all, your staff is amazing. The front desk clerks were attentive and kind and friendly. I am sorry I did not ask their names. The hotel? Very "tired". In the first room, the couch was broken, the inside fold a bed was completely broken, so the couch cushions dropped into the couch when I sat down. The toilet ran over and within a minute, the floor had an inch of water. I called the front desk and immediately was moved to another room. In the second room, #608, the bathroom ceiling was stained and the paint was peeling. The table and chairs were worn down to the wood and plastic worn away. The couch cushions dropped into the couch again. On the great side, the bedding was very clean, and very comfortable. I did find a dead "Stink Bug" on the air conditioner/heating unit. I

The location was great and I really liked the free transportation ( you should boocked it earlier by contacting the front desk)— super convenient!Breakfast was okay, but there weren’t many options. The pancakes were already gone even though the buffet had just started about 30 minutes earlier.Also, both coffee machines at the reception weren’t working — one was broken and the other kept showing an error. When they tried to fix it, they had to turn it off completely, so unfortunately, no coffee in the morning.

There is a surprise 20 dollar a night parking fee. The fee doesn’t offer any security for your car as it just a few to park in their parking lot. When you add that fee to the cost of the room you can definitely find a better choice for an economical stay. There is many weird smells around every corner and the stains on the carpet, lampshades, etc definitely makes you wonder about the cleanliness. The upholstery on the furniture is shredded so I didn’t even try to pull out the bed in the small couch. I was scared of what I would find.
