Comfort Inn & Suites LaVale - Cumberland

Great spot with lots of food options close by. Close to FSU. Hotel site and rooms well kept and great service. Ice machines and water bottle fillers in several locations. Breakfast was perfect with lots of options. Pool was decent but water cloudy and space really hot...typical for an indoor pool. New favorite spot when visiting Western MD!

The hot tub was very nice and relaxing. Didn't use the pool it was very cloudy. Was charged a $250 security deposit because I live within 50 miles of the hotel which isn't a big deal besides the fact nothing on the website informs ya of this. Only thing about deposits is the per fee. Also the beds aren't good. Could hear springs every time I moved, was supposed to be queen beds but sure seemed smaller than a queen. Also if you like to sleep in hopefully the room next to ya is empty because you can really hear the shower in the next room enough to wake ya. Also the breakfast was nice and the host there was sweet and helpful. But they also had expired yogurt out. Overall wasn't terrible but honestly for the price I would expect a little more. Overall the stay was nice. The rooms clean, staff friendly and the room in good condition. The complementary breakfast was good and fresh. The lady overseeing the breakfast area was very courteous and helpful. She was excellent at keeping things fresh and stocked. During our first night of the stay we had to evacuate along with all guests at 5:15 AM due to smoke in the building and the alarm sounding. We were outside in 12 degree weather in night clothes. No problem, those things happen. This went on for about 45 minutes. Not once during that time did we interact with any motel personnel, only firemen. Felt like we were on our own. A little communication from staff would have been appreciated.

Front desk and breakfast staff are always wonderful. Our son got sick while we were there this time, and upon letting them know they made sure to get extra sanitizing cleaning products for our room at checkout to ensure staff and future guests did not get sick. Highly recommend. We travel a lot and this location truly does a great job no matter which staff member we interact with.

All of the staff we encountered were kind, welcoming and helpful. The lobby was open and recently updated in a tasteful decor. We were welcomed to a comfortable seating/eating area where we enjoyed take out. I’m funny about hotels and value cleanliness so I was instantly put at ease when I walked into a spotless lobby. The room was comfortable and clean! Mix of old a new but very well kept. Comfy beds! We are happy with our choice to stay here and found the accommodations to be a great value! We will see you all again.
