Comfort Inn Newport

Simple but nice. The beds were soft to us and the rooms were fine. The hotel seems old but has been well maintained and is in good condition. The one issue we had was taken care of very quickly. The breakfast was standard but always refilled so they never ran out of anything. The staff was very helpful.

Not anywhere near what we've come to expect. Elevator not working. Asked for a room as quiet as possible, was placed right at the door - we hear everyone as they come in. Room is functional and no more. No chair, not an extra anything - only the very barest of necessities. The bathroom is a disgrace it's so small. You have to straddle the toilet to close the door to get to the sink. The sink area is so small you can only put the barest minimum of toiletries - not a spare inch. No pool. Our two bed room has two full beds, not the queens we usually enjoy. I haven't tried the breakfast yet, but I have no great expectations after seeing what this hotel offers. We only stayed 2 nights, but it was great. Mikaela set a standard all other gm's should follow. She is very good at her job as are her teammate's. The internet was down when we got there, she took care of it as quickly as she could. We appreciated it. The hotel is older but clean. Close to the beach and all things Newport. Such a cool town. Reminded us of Morro Bay a bit. We will be back during the winter. Less crowds we hope. Maybe next time we can get a room facing the front. Thanks again Mikaela. See you all soon.

stayed here 10/31- 11/2. It was pouring rain outside and the water heaters for the whole building broke the first day. the water heaters weren’t fixed until afternoon, in which i came back into my room to find that the heater had shorted out while I was gone, so my room was freezing cold. They moved me rooms for the heater which i appreciate, but that’s two pretty big problems in less than 24 hours. For the water heater, i requested a partial refund as I was missing out on an important necessity. I was offered a 15% refund of the first nights total price, but they won’t refund it to my payment method; only as a credit for when we stay with them next time. I’m sure it’s not hard to guess, but there won’t be a next time. PS. Almost forgot to mention the elevators weren’t working either. don’

What an absolute nightmare. While Newport is not typically overwhelmingly hot, we visited during some hot days. Our air conditioner never worked during our 3 night stay. A maintenance person allegedly came to fix it, but all they did was turn the thermostat down, which did nothing. We frequently encountered an empty desk with a sign to call some number, which we did and it continually rang. The worst part is on our seeking refund, we have just been strung along. We haven't even gotten an apology for the issues. DONT STAY HERE
