Comfort Inn Grantsville-Deep Creek Lake

The hotel was clean and our room was comfortable. We had plenty of towels for both of us for our short stay. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful and took care of us quickly. The complimentary breakfast was really good and had a wide variety of items to choose from. It was really nice to be able to get breakfast without have to drive anywhere. I also loved the real stone decor in the lobby.

My family of 5 stayed at the Comfort hotel where we faced subtle racism from Kathy during breakfast. While my dad was using the waffle machine, she approached him with some attitude and asked him if he used the tongs and to make sure he put them back. A few minutes later, a white man came to grab some food beside us and she greeted him by saying “good morning!” with a chirpy voice. We were shocked as to the difference in her demeanor from that white man versus our Korean family. We never exchanged words with her besides me asking where the water is and her telling my dad to clean up after himself even though he never even used the tongs at first. Both exchanges were unmatched to her welcoming customer service to that white man. We never got a warm greeting from her either. My first thought

We selected this hotel because of the advertisement of a heated indoor pool and Hot Continental breakfast. The rooms were nice and clean. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good, however not enough seating. The pool was the largest disappointment. It was not heated. It was freezing cold. No indication that anything was broken, front desk said nothing. I had 2 highly disappointed children.

Checked in around 9:pm. toilet was not cleaned at all, not flushed and filthy. Called front desk and was immediately assigned another room. The clerk was very apologetic. That room was clean, but, had a very strong "industrial" odor (cleanser?). Because we were checking out early the next morning, we just dealt with the odor. Will not stay there again.

The front manager made me leave and another couple when we tried to check in. We had dogs that were going to stay in the car and she told us that the hotel is not animal friendly so we would need to leave immediately. I have never ever been treated so rudely. My daughter and I were in town for a college visit. This is a hotel they recommend. The college had been advised as to what happened and they will NOT be using this hotel ever again. I really feel bad for me but the older couple that was dismissed looked really miserable. Such a shame.
