Collins Hotel

Based on reviews I was expecting worse. Needed a room for night before cruise, south beach and closer to terminal were $$$ for our dates. This one fit the bill cost wise. Location was great! We were able to check in at 5am when our flight landed for an extra $50. Watched the sun rise over the ocean from our window, took a long nap in the comfortable room then checked out the area. Great brunch spot next door. Access to beach was great. Rented bikes down the road and biked for hours. Fabulous ocean view dinner spot across the street at another hotel. Nothing fancy but in all a perfect night pre cruise, very happy with our choice

For a budget hotel, it is incredibly clean. The staff has been friendly and helpful. I don’t love the smell of the lobby, but that is the only thing I would change. The walls are thin and you can definitely hear other people’s conversations, rather easily, but there’s only so much you can do about the building structure itself. We did not book direct but rather through a third party site and it was very easy to check-in. The pool area also seems to be recently refreshed

Service at the front desk was very friendly and 24/7. Amenities were basic but generally clean, which makes sense given the price point. Among the most affordable hotel options along the beach, we were decently happy with this.

Floors sticky from bleach, toilet kept running. Completely flat pillows. Very loud, like zero insulation between rooms. Loud hallways, loud rude guests. Someone from next door at 3 am was curious about the adjoining door and kept trying to open ours and then when they couldn’t they proceeded to slam their door repeatedly. The toilet ran nonstop and there was obvious mold in the room in the light fixtures. I am from Florida and am used to beach side hotels. We stayed here because we were literally just going to be sleeping in the room and that was the worst part about the hotel. Zero sleep! Also when we booked it said parking and all other fees were included in booking. Nope! $25 a day. They do offer gated parking.

We stayed at this Hotel twice. We had a back to back cruise and needed 1 night in between so we came back here(2 nights before the 1st cruise) Francisca checked us in both times. She is very friendly, warm and welcoming. Medi was there one evening and he was definitely a life saver and very helpful and friendly. The Hotel itself has been obviously updated just like all the rest in this area. The rooms are well kept. Beds and pillows are comfortable. Both rooms had functioning ACs. There is a laundry facility onsite. Great location. Within walking distance to the beach. There are many businesses across the street and on either side. If there is space luggage can be held here until your room is ready. No breakfast available. Lobby has plenty of sitting space. Decently priced for this busy ar
