Cloud Dance Resort

My husband and I just stayed at Cloud Dance for a romantic weekend getaway. We had the worst nights sleep either of us have had in our entire lives. The cabin is cute and secluded, but the owners should invest in new mattress for the beds - mattresses looked to be from the 70's. We didn't get any sleep and left after only one night, even though we paid for two nights. The shower needs a new shower head as well, as I had to duck to wash my hair and the water flow was extremely weak. Beautiful scenery though and tons of deer to see, amazing stars.

This was our second visit and I have to say these cabins deliver exactly what they promise! Peace. Quiet. Deer wandering around. Seriously beautiful. It is very close to Garner State Park and the Frio River. (although the drought in Texas this year has the river looking like a ditch) The cabins are very nice, clean, well-appointed with full-size kitchens, grills outside and a hot tub on the porch. Satellite TV, but no phones. This is an absolutely wonderful place for a couple to go 'un-plug'. My husband and I spent hours just sitting in the hot tub talking. Actually talking. :-) ||||A wonderful daytrip is to head out and drive to Sabinal. From there, drive north to Utopia and have lunch at Lost Maples Cafe. Then work off your meal on a short hike (0.8 mi. Maple Trail) in Lost Maples State

We have stayed at Cloud Dance Cabins many times, during all seasons. I love winter the best, but that is because I prefer cold weather and the owners decorate for the holidays.||The cabins are perfect and come with everything you need! ||It is very quiet and peaceful. We wandered around, left deer corn out for the many, many deer, got to see SO MANY stars at night, and got to spend real family time together, with no one's face buried in their phone.||We have hiked there, and floated the river, as well as had larger family gatherings.||||The owners are very pleasant and accommodating. ||||We have always enjoyed our times there, and always have plans to return.||||Sorry, at the bottom it asked me to rate things. There is no pool that I remember.

I wouldn’t stay here again. I booked a cabin and paid for it in full during the flood in 2015. There’s plenty of video of that flood online. Look it up on YouTube. I couldn’t stay there and the guy told me it was too bad and he refused to refund me my money even though it was flooded. The creek before you get there would have trapped us in there for days if we didn’t leave. I can’t stand people who do business like that. He didn’t even offer me a discount for another day, even if it wasn’t in peak season . I tried reasoning with him and he refused. I hope they go out of business. $750 down the drain.

The location of the cabin was close to river access but we were disappointed with the cabin view we only saw the trees in front of us no winding hills. Be sure to bring salt and pepper or anything you need to cook supper. It wasn't quite because the trees blocked the view of the nearby house who were partying till morning. All in all disappointed with my stay
