Chatham Inn Relais & Châteaux

We absolutely loved our stay here. The interior design is gorgeous, contemporary and inviting. Our accommodation was on the third floor, room 12, with a fireplace and small outdoor balcony. The visit was a surprise for my 67th birthday and my husband planned the multi course dinner our first night. Since I preferred a more casual setting, we were able to have drinks and appetizers from the menu in the cozy bar. Breakfast was included and was good, but lacked the creativity one expects from a Relais and Chateau property, no big deal! We will be back for sure.

We loved our stay here. Our room was comfortable and clean. The food and cocktails were great. The location is perfect to walk around. However, what makes this place truly unique is the service. All of the staff is very friendly and helpful. We appreciated getting pastries throughout the day. Ryan the bartender makes some exceptional drinks. Nick and Riana at the front desk were super helpful. The breakfast shift folks were all great as well. And Dane made sure our stay was perfect.

This was my second stay at the Inn this year. Based on my first experience, this stay included some unexpected disappointments. |The Inn is near Chatham Center and, in the other direction, Lighthouse Beach. No need for a car. All parts of the Inn are just beautiful and immaculately clean. No noise heard from my room. |The television in my room did not work dependably. Fixed by a maintenance person on my first day. High winds may have played a role. Not working again the next. |The coffee machine was broken. Replaced.|The needed replacements of typical items in the room after being made up did not all appear. I was told that all I had to do was call the front desk and they would be brought to my room. That shouldn't be necessary. A problem when I needed something that hadn't bee

We would rate the service excellent at Chatham Inn. Staff was friendly and professional during our 6 night stay. Breakfast was very good and the waitstaff were superior. We did not try the highly rated restaurant because it didn't seem to be good value based upon appetizers we had in the bar. Upon check-in, communication about amenities and how to operate the air conditioner was not good. We later discovered there was a booklet about the inn buried underneath some other material in our room. We were less than impressed with room #14. The bedroom and sitting room were extremely small, with scarcely room enough to get around the bed to the far side. The bedroom had no artwork on the walls, only a large TV. Absolutely superb hotel from start to finish. Perfect location at the top of the main street. Close enough to walk to everything but just far enough away to be peaceful. Excellent room with very comfy bed and well appointed. Staff are top notch which you would expect from a Relais & Chateaux but special mention to Connie who was booking restaurants for us before we even arrived and Dane, for whom nothing was too much trouble. THE place to stay in Chatham, bar none.
