Chardonnay Lodge

The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location. Don’t plan on watching the TV because the remote control is beyond complicated and needed batteries and the TV screen has had some sort of moisture that makes it impossible to see! No Internet, no Wi-Fi, no channels that have any movies unless it’s PBS. The minute we arrived, batteries were needed in the smoke alarm as it chirped until the manager could come and replace with a D battery and of course, the remote needed a battery. Plan on the heater being in extreme heat mode or no heat at all! The only good thing I can say is the towels were white, but the sheets were not! The sheets were a gross gray color. It is a bit outdated, but looked quite clean. The bed is good and so is the shower. But when your neighbour starts to shower, it will be impossible to sleep because of the noise. After all, just worth the money.

The rooms were nice. Air conditioning was a bit noisy to sleep with when on, however very effective. Very clean and friendly staff.

I tried to reschedule due to being sick but they said not unless I had documentation. On THANKSGIVING???? My doctor is OOO until 12/1. I went ahead and checked in bc I would lose my money anyways. The water was yellow. The WATER WAS YELLOW. I ran the sink and toilet and they both had yellow water. I checked out after seeing that. Never again. I drove back home 2.5 hours. I was sneezing, coughing, blowing my nose the whole time. Not a great experience. They didn’t seem to care about their guests. I’ll stick to Airbnb.

The moment I pulled into the parking lot, I saw a shirtless man standing in his doorway with his belly hanging over his shorts—and I immediately had a bad feeling. I tried to stay open-minded, but things only got worse from there. I had two rooms booked. One had someone else’s belongings already inside, and the other had a non-working key. Thankfully, the front desk staff was polite and helpful, but that’s the only redeeming part of my experience. The room I ended up staying in was absolutely disgusting. Everything felt neglected: no fresh paint, beat-up furniture, and a broken interior door lock that made me feel unsafe. The air conditioning barely worked, and the bed didn’t even have a proper fitted sheet—just a comforter over a mattress pad. I actually searched for bugs because the room
