Central Park West Hostel

If I could leave 0 stars I would. My stay at Central Park West Hostel was so bad that I had to leave three hours after checking in, and I have been trying to contact the property for days with zero response. Nobody answers the phone, there is no email, and the complete lack of communication is unacceptable. I fully intend on pursuing a refund through every avenue available.||The room looked nothing like the photos. There were bugs in the corner, the mattress and pillow were laughably thin, and the bedsheet provided had actual holes in it. The bathroom was disgusting. I opened the door and was hit with an overwhelming stench of smoke and weed, strong enough that I literally had to cover my face.||Trying to sleep was impossible. My stay at Central Park West Hostel was extremely disappointing. The hostel was dirty and unsanitary, both in the common areas and in the room. I encountered cockroaches on the walls, the floor, and even in my bed, a broken window covered with cardboard, and very dirty shared bathrooms. The listing is misleading: bathrooms are not private, Wi-Fi only works at reception, and the “kitchen” is just a fridge and a microwave. I was initially promised a refund, which was later refused. Neither the hostel nor Stayforlong helped in any way. I only got my money back two months later through a bank chargeback, after having to pay for alternative accommodation. I strongly suggest you RUN from this hostel !!!

I’d rather die than live here again. The rooms are never cleaned and the sheets seem to have never been washed. Dust and allergens everywhere. I fell sick during my stay. The whole hostel smells unclean. I hated coming back to this place to even just sleep. Hot water was always there so that was nice I guess. Overall a very bad experience. Would not recommend wasting your money.

Staff were very welcoming and supportive, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a cheaper place to stay in Upper West Manhattan. One thing the beds could use is curtains, for privacy, and chargers, bunks like the latest Hostel International designs. I stayed in the private room during the week, so I'm not sure what the larger dorms are like.

This hotel is a mess, it's cheap yeah, but I don't think that's a reason for them to have cockroaches everywhere, also the general conditions are terrible, I was unable to use that bathroom. Thank God I stayed just for a few hours while we visited the central park and all that area and then we left early. If you are going to stay at this hotel please take into account all the comments here, we are telling the true (rooms in very bad conditions, no tv, no blanket, no towels, no parking available, and there's a shared bathroom). I just give 1 star because the guy in the lobby was nice. The only good is the locación but I would prefer or I would recommend other hotel, not this at all.
