The price for this group camp is a good deal. Allows up to 50 people and if I remember correctly maybe more than 8 cars. There was a total of 9 of us and 4 cars. There were plenty of spaces to pitch. Camp has no water source but other than that it’s ok. Pit toilet , fire ring, 2 tables . Can get hot but not too bad during our stay . We use it as base camp to hike white mountain peak. Night sky was phenomenal. It was during the Perseid meteor shower, and we did saw a few shooting stars. The only wild life I saw was deers, chipmunks, & lizards. The directions on Google maps are accurate and there is no cell reception. Camp site also has a dump station . Because it is a group site and 1 of 3 group site we did not see anyone else.

I was in the Noren branch. It's the most desolate of the three. The other two have more trees as you move north, so if you like some natural shade, the others are better. Decent large campground for the price. The three branches are separated, so you can barely see and hear the other groups there, but there is lots of room for dispersed camping. Poke around to find your favorite spot! Summer temps were hot and on this weekend (7/5-8/24) it was brutal, but I knew that going in. There isn't a lot to do up there during the day, so make sure you have things planned down in the Big Pine/Bishop area or bring a lot of friends and a metric ton of cold drinks :) I drove across the Owens Valley and soaked in Big Pine Creek during the day. The bathroom was clean. There was some trash, but n

We stopped during a road trip and it was so quiet. Nothing better than leaving the city to do lunch in a place with no traffic or sounds of the city. We saw lizards which was fun. The road to the campground was easy. My Prius didn't have an issue. There are alot of dumpsters, too.
