Wonderful little motel! My friend and I stopped here for the Big Pine Lakes hike the following day, when we arrived it was already dark and we were hungry and the sweet lady that owns the motel not only stayed late especially for us, but offered us homemade soup! The room we had 2 beds and it was very cozy and clean, and we really enjoyed our stay! The Big Pine Lakes trail is also only a 15-20 min drive from the motel, pretty much a straight shot.
Motels like this make me nervous in terms of safety and cleanliness. But the location seemed the most convenient to the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest. In the end, I'm glad I stayed here. ||||ROOM: It's no frills and the furnishings are outdated, but it was comfortable. The room was clean - the carpeting in particular was in really good condition. The AC unit worked, but when it was 100ºF plus outside, it struggled to produce cool air. I noticed this was also true of the AC unit in my car, however. So I wondered if past a certain temp, they don't work really well. ||||The room had supplies of facial soap and a small bottle of shampoo, which was good enough for me to take a shower. There's also a tiny fridge, which I put my water bottles in. ||||The door has 3 locks. I didn't fe
I had an unplanned stay here for one night due to some car trouble. The proprietress here was very friendly. The room, super clean and recently refurbished, one of the cleanest rooms I've stayed in. I appreciated having a small refrigerator. It is an older and simply appointed establishment. The main structural walls are painted cinder block. One might think block walls would make for good soundproofing, but I found that not to be the case. I had loud-talking neighbors that stayed up very late and had to run the AC all night in order to drown out their noise, even though I would have preferred it off. The AC unit in my room was kind of loud; they always are to some extent, but this one was on the louder end of the spectrum, though not the worst I've experienced. It could be the neighbors w
My boyfriend and I stayed there for 1 night on our way to Yosemite and I would definitely stay there again. The lady at the front desk was very friendly even when we called her & woke her up at 11pm and asked if she had any rooms left. The room bathroom was clean, bed was clean, AC was working well, there was a small fridge and a TV. Parking was free and it was quiet. Would definitely recommend staying there! No complaints.
Nice staff, comfortable bed, decent WiFi. Great shower! A good value for the money. The rooms are a little worn, but very clean. There isn’t much to choose from in Big Pine, but this is a dependable option.
