Big Pine Recreation Area Information Center

Got there in the afternoon so I didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked. Did the cabin loop hike which had some great bristlecone pine tree specimens at the top and the mining cabin remains. They were in pretty good shape and were very interesting. Staff at the visitor center was helpful and friendly. There is a 20 minute video that you can watch in their theater. That does a great job putting the age of these trees into perspective and how useful they have been creating timelines in other areas of science.

Sad the tree was cut down because of lack of water. Nice spot to pull over and stretch. We parked our trailer across the street at the Glacier View Campground while we explored all day. @5x8 adventures

Good spot with electricity/ water and $ shower. 13 miles to Bristlecone Park entrance. Road noise.

Good place to have a stretch and check road conditions. No problem parrking and convenient to 2 different highways.

The beginning towards death valley(Nevada) stopped here shortwhile for a picture, surrounded by utmost beauty of this universe.
