Captain's Quarters

I am sad to see the poor condition of this home. It was once a grand & beautiful place! I stayed in Room #6, on the 4th floor with a private balcony. The balcony was flooded due to a recent rainstorm & had no where to drain, and smelled like old stagnant water. I brought it to the Manager’s attention at check-in & he said he would call Maintenance but never responded after that. The room was old, musty, with outdated furnishings & cracked tile floors & peeling wall paint. On the upside the TV worked, and the shower water was hot & there were plenty of nice bath towels. The main floor with common spaces had creaky floors, random mismatched antiques & no lights. Most of the recessed lighting & lamps had burned out lightbulbs. The house is lovely, the room was clean and comfortable but I do not recommend room #1. The bed is the loudest, creakiest bed I have EVER had the displeasure of not sleeping on. Every movement was insanely loud. They were working on the balcony, the stairs you see in the photos are gone, and the pier looked really dangerously unstable. I think there was only one other guest in the house, so it was very quiet. As others have noted, there is no breakfast at this bed and breakfast. The view of the bay and the sunrise was quite nice, but there are a lot of places you can get that AND breakfast, too!

Amazing place, I really enjoyed the stay. Views from the main room and roof are stellar.

The wife and I just spent the weekend here and had an amazing time. The house is beautiful, the view of the water is perfect.

A charming little place over-looking the bay. Very quaint, no frills room that was comfortable and homey with cute decor and a gas log fireplace. We were within walking distance of plenty of restaurants and the boardwalk. The place was quiet, clean, and very welcoming Others commented on the hot water, the issue is the valve is in upside down, so turn it so the water just comes on and all the hot water you need will flow. We stayed in room #2 with a balcony over-looking the water, a perfect way to start the day with a cup of coffee. On the first floor, there is a refrigerator and a microwave, but a mini fridge and microwave in the room would have been a small addition that would have made the stay perfect. My only complaint is that we did not have more time to spend here.
